Some butthurt over something that was posted 8 years ago. Rolled into the BGchat yesterday hot and bothered. Made legal threats against BG. Troll-tanio shooed him out.

Meh. Imo you shouldn't have taken shit down and let the trolls run rampant on him. I'm no lawyer, but I'm pretty sure it can't be considered libel or slander or defamation or anything else if it's what HE SAID. Lbelle didn't edit anything, she just called him weird.

If things that people said themselves were offenses that could be addressed in court, the media would never cover politics again.

For what its worth, if it did go to court, it could be considered tampering with evidence.

Though for the reasons I denoted above, it shouldnt even get that far since this entire incident was 8 yrs ago.

I think you are looking at it as spoliation of evidence, but I don't think so. The complainant asked for the removal, there would still be a record of the edit, and it is my understanding that it isn't "evidence" unless subpoenaed as such or in a discovery request.

For us, it's an 8 year old thread that's been unexpectedly bumped and we're having a laugh, but for him, any company or person that googles him sees this first. The lesson to take away -- have a common name! Or don't be weird, never use your real name, don't threaten to sue people just to get what you want.. Guess there are a lot of lessons~

This is why I'm always extra cautious when I post on my twitter or facebook account. I've been doing some freelance writing lately and my employer has been slow with assignments. You can't just blast them because someday it will bite you in the butt. I just said I've been anxious to start writing.
