Magic Accuracy did jack shit for RDMs, might just take a lesson from that.

Unless I see some proof that its 3 MAB instead of just 3 DMG like the description says I don't understand the point in meriting them past 1 in each. 40k Exp to make my spell go from 1800 to 1803 on MB only doesn't seem worth it.
    It certainly isn't 3 damage it's 3MAB.

And again, what NM would you need a higher tier Stone spell on? If you're really into sky, 1 flood, 1 tornado, and either 2/2 or 3/1 freeze and burst, otherwise...capped burst and freeze will be the most useful.

    EDIT
Artcia, AMII aren't xp spells, the IV's are much better in XP situations. So getting quake for puddings is rather silly.

Of course, you know they'd give that to a monk for pulling.

KB gets nuked with Blizzard but that's not because he's weak to ice, its just cause he's weak enough in general for it to land easily, and because Stone IV is kinda pathetic being the first tier IV spell. He's one NM that Quake II would technically be great for, but the usefulness there is reduced simply because KB is pathetically weak.

Did anyone test out the strength of the elemental resistance reduction on AMII or San yet? I think I read most posts about those 2 topics and I don't recall seeing confirmation about either.

In the BLM burn linkshell I'm in(we do KS99 Horlais Peak, Ouryu BC, and Bahamut #2 BC) Specifically on Ouryu we been using Tornado II for Ice magic resistance down, and it's worked pretty well. Our clear time is still relatively the same.

    To answer questions:

No AM2 is not tiered. With same potency merits, and no staff, they do exact same damage. Here:

    http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...l/FFXI/AM2.jpg

each upgrade is +3% MB damage, not +3 dmg jeez. Tests, with same maxed potency merits and no staff, but level 1 Burst II and level 3 Freeze II:

    http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...FFXI/AM2MB.jpg

1873/1755 = 1.0672... so approximately 6% increase in damage. Correctly corresponding to the +6 increase from 2 more merit upgrades.

(remember numbers are rather low, due to having no staff equipped)

Seeing as my ice and thunder spells have an inherent 10% increase in damage due to merits, unlocking any others seems pointless to me, as I would very rarely if ever use them.

Unlock them all imo. I'd even consider using Quake II just to lower something's Thunder resist.

Thanks for the info, i hadn't seen anyone with more then 1 merit on my sever on a MB so i couldnt tell. And with SE's wording I try to take them as literal and negative as possible so I don't get my hopes up for nothing >_>

I'm thinking of unlocking all of them, 2 in Burst, and 3 in Freeze. For now, 2 in Burst, 2 in Freeze, 1 in Tornado, 1 in Flood because of the current cap.

I have friends that use them over tier IV when the conditions are right to use obis etc, certainly ups exp rate the times I've been there. Though we're pimped out and my one friend has a novio and I have a genie and we have the obis and use sorc rings so we put up ga3 type numbers for less mana.

Uh, with that gear you should stick to Tier IV and just kill faster. Using AM2 is a large waste on puddings
