Niro;
I can understand where you'd be concerned - but if you walk into this situation with a preconceived notion of what is going to happen you're definitely not doing yourself any favors bud.

Don't give up hope yet, I lived with this type in the past. Most of them are 100% nice, easy going people. Very few of the people who attend these Christian retreats are fire-and-brimstone bible-thumping lecturers. The ones I did know personally were either nice christian asian boys and girls (i.e. confrontation makes them weep) or the Boy/Girl Scout type.Originally Posted by Nirokun!
Just don't let them invite you to 'a free rock concert' because it's going to be Christian Rock on campus. I got roped into one before. It was bad.
You may not spend a lot of time together as buddies, but given what you said about the previous roommie that might not be a bad thing.
Lol..

And I'd give up forever to touch you
'Cause I know that you feel me somehow
You're the closest to heaven that I'll ever be
And I don't wanna go home right now
And all I could taste is this moment
And all I can breath is your life
And sooner or later it's over
I just don't wanna miss you tonight
And I don't want the world to see me
'Cause I don't think that they'd understand
When everything's mad to be broken
I just want you to know who I am
You professin your secret love for niro? If not I don't see the relevance of Iris lyrics to this thread![]()

i get lots of tells with random love songs
he's a nice guy, but my backside wouldnt feel safe around him (*'-')
niro, since your "not" facebookstalking him, have you considered introducing yourself before school starts? that way theres nothing awkward on the first day
no >_> i think that would be wierd lol
that would require facebookstalking him anyways, i'd have to contact him through facebook or have an explanation as to why i know his info... its easier just to be like... "hi, im your roommate lol"

My roomate last year was a lesbian, before we got to campus she sent me an email informing me of this and said that if I had a problem with it she would understand me changing roomates.
My sister (who is religous) flipped out, she thought it was disgusting blah blah blah. Its like living with a guy with breasts, big deal.. its really just a matter of respecting each other. The 'worst' thing that could happen would be if I were to walk in on her with some chick, but walking in on someone regardless of orientation is icky so its a moot point. We got along fine, the only thing I didn't like about her was she went to sleep way too early and I'd wake her up when I came in at night. We were amiable, and are kind of friends now, just not very close because we have our own friends.
Just tell him straight out, and if he doesn't like it he can leave. Then you'll get a room to yourself. I agree that if you are going to have problems with this guy it will be because of his living habits, and not because of his beliefs. If he thinks he can start preaching to you about how you are going to hell you can either tune him out--or preach to him about how awesome men are
Oh man I wish I was back in college. Heh, my roomate freshmen year, now one of my best friends, was and still is one of the weirdest kids I've ever met. He has OCD so everything has to be a certain way. If you moved something of his while he wasn't there, when he came back to the room he would adjust it so it was back to how it original was. I'm not talking about everything obvious, but he had a decorative Aboslut Vodka bottle and I moved it a few degrees label wise, and he noticed it and moved it back immediately.
I also walked into the room one day to find him shaving his forearms LOL. And he was allergic to everything...he had nose drops, eye drops, ear drops, you name it.
Threads like this make me happy that I always lived in a single when I was in college. My mother figured I did not need to learn any lessons about sharing space after growing up with three older brothers.
(Super-best part of my dorm was that I was in a suite with its own bathroom that I shared with two other people. Yay for no communal restrooms!)
Communal showers in college were always fun for me. Deffinentally gave me incentive to get in there durring the crowded part of the morning, even though my classes weren't untill later.
