My understanding was the Last Stand was a Zilart zone. Anyhow, if you read the dialog for it, it feels like the Stellar Fulcrum, except for a lot of weird dialog about plane-shifting. Also, I'm pretty sure if you read the list of zone names, Obelisk and Lower Promyvion are gone and replaced by Apollyon and Temenos, while Last Stand is still in there.

This is correct. The Last Stand is a RoZ zone, and along with the Cavern of Flames, was never released.

The Ou'Hpat Obelisk (which is still in Nag'molada's text for CoP 8-2 cutscene) and Lower Promyvion, were both renamed to Temenos and Apollyon respectively. People used POS hacks to access the Northern half of Al'Taieu before it was released and zoned into the Obelisk and took screenshots (Taj and a few others). Since zoning into Lower Promyvion required targeting a specific marker which didn't work, no one accessed that zone before it became Apollyon.

The Empyreal Paradox was always called that.

I just remember someone saying that, I really am not a data miner so I could not say anything for sure.

I wonder, does a zone exist for the Last Stand? And if so, can you view it with the new model viewer?

Yup, it looks suspiciously like a certain zone in EQ lol. The sign pointed to "Chocobo Woods". It looked like it was some kind of early test zone

I remember hearing about the monorail being in Bastok. Supposedly there is a tunnel in one of the mountains in South Gustaberg for it.

I'm at work at the moment, and I think FFXItool was deleted a while ago on my pc. I would need to know what is the last stand .dat if there is any, cause it takes forever to go through all zone manually. I don't remember seeing any new zone other than this one and the giant checker board used for debugging purpose I guess.



I've no clue what happened to those zone from the trailer, but most were replaced. The Dragon aery'ish area originaly had a flying fafnir and a lot more water according to the trailer.


The snow field look like Konshtat with snow or sand. The other map might be Zi'tah with small tree, but it does look like wajaom with colorful tree.

Yeah. The Last Stand is in the .dat files, but I forget where. It's very Zilart-ish, which makes sense as its was added with RoZ.

I'd get some pics, but sifting through .dats with that crap-ass viewer takes hours. Anyone have a better viewer for it :(

I wonder if this is the place they were talking about for retired Chocobos...

(Would make senese to use an existing dat instead of making a new one from scratch.)

Might just be mentioned since it makes sense in this game, but I doubt they will add the zone. I would like to see a chocobo forest and moogle town just for the sake of it.


On another side, what happen to small chocobo of the wrong color you want to discard? Ifrit cauldron -->throw away?

Youji Fujito [Planner]: To elaborate on this, once the growth period of a chocobo has ended, it will be sent to a "farm" where it can spend the rest of its days. When it is sent, you will be given a "proof of ownership" certificate which will allow you to come and visit your chocobo at any time. And, with your previous chocobo at the farm, you will be able to to begin raising a new chocobo if you wish.

Not sure how literal he was being about visiting. Maybe it is connected to the race track somehow. (Since the race track has exits in every city with a full chobobo stable.)
