Entertaining? Yes. Good? No.

Children actors almost universally suck, as do the plots they are a part of. Putting a child actor into a Mature-rated role is even worse, as the studio/directors/producers/etc will catch all kinds of hell if they depict them in an amoral and protagonist role without counterbalancing it with a strong moral lesson at the end. In other words, they have to turn good (complete with regrets and a monologue describing them) by the end or they can't be the main character.

Sometimes you can recover. The first year I lived in the snow I did a complete 360 in my truck on the highway drifted down the center of the road with traffic on either side, corrected myself when I was facing the correct way again and continued driving without hitting anyone.
