We've done ENMs weekly for about a year and a half or so, and today was the first time I've ever seen the Memory Receptacle actually melee us. Is this some new thing...? Nobody in my party had ever seen it before.

I had never seen it ever before (done countless promyvions) until my party did a run through them to get the sliver things for Apocolypse Nigh recently. Those MRs hit hard... I'm assuming they patched that in sometime because I've gone monk most of the time back in the day when CoP first came out and never gotten touched other than by Strays and Empty Seed.

~15% chance of me being mistaken, but I'm almost positive that all but the level-1 MRs were slapping me around.

I soloed up to Floor 4 for Shadows of the Departed, floor 3 was the only one that would hit me

Yeah, I've started seeing this, back when I was doing Shadows of Departed, but I do not remember what floor. I thought it was really weird at the time.

By melee, do you mean only if you get close enough, or do they actually move now?

These have actually melee'd for a while, ever since the Promyvion Nerf I think... I remember a long time back when I still needed the Promyvions when I decided to melee it as WHM.. I guess if you get close enough to it and have hate, it'll hit you.

Back when CoP was released I only remember the Vahzl MR's smacking me around. To be fair though, I was rarely in melee range for the first 3, I hadn't learned to use the post next to it as a support for the knockback skill yet.

By melee, do you mean only if you get close enough, or do they actually move now?

They don't move or anything, just will melee-hit you rather hard if you have hate and are within melee range.
