Charming the Overgrownrose you will be able to solo Faf - no rly try it!

Actually... the other problem I see is you could only do this once. The second time you show up for a Faf camp the other LS's would keep killing your Darter's between windows. Heck, on Levi people tend to kill the Darter's seemingly half the time anyway.Originally Posted by Delekii
Macro swapping in a Vermy would be a lot easier than macro swapping the full Yigit set, mostly because Vermy is only one piece. Sure the hMP+ is pretty godly on the full Yigit... but the last time I recall /healing as a bard in meripo was to cancel that ATT+ song I was accidentally singing on the RDM >_>;;Originally Posted by Delekii
If the full Yigit set had nicer stats for Bard (putting aside the body piece) it would be a much more viable option. But in my opinion you would be better served by macro swapping a Vermy.
I expect I'll eventually obtain most of the Yigit set (I'll have RDM/BLM/WHM/SMN/BRD @ 75 one day) and everything except the Legs seems useful to one or two of those jobs (R.Pumps > Yigit Shoes IMO when not nuking).
results are in. i just got the full amir set
BurstII w/o set : 971 consistent every shot
BurstII W/ set: 945 every shot
reduction : 2.68%
Thunder IV w/o set : 854 consistent every shot
Thunder IV w/ set : 813 consitent every shot
reduction : 4.8%
Thunder III w/o set : 641 consistent every shot
Thunder III w set : 603 consistent every shot
reduction : 5.9% (edited to correct %'s))
Thunder w/o set : 185 consistent every shot
Thunder w set : 170 consistent eveyr shot
reduction : 8.1% (edited to correct %'s)
did about 4 runs each. all the numbers were the same for each hit. seems to be tier based and in the wrong direction.. more reduction on lower lvl spells...........
yigit is 1mp/tick

Cool thanks for the info man. It's petty but still nice to swap out with macros when you know a mean spell is coming lol.
Are these typos? It seems to me the reduction for Thunder III was 5.9% and for Thunder it was 8.1%Originally Posted by darkhero168
numbers also peak at higher tiered spells. You would need to test with Thunder4 and Stone4, mixing up gear.Originally Posted by darkhero168

Why lol? It's fun missions that have decent rewards that are relatively easy to obtain. It was designed to be a casual thing with situational rewards, some of which are actually pretty good(Amir Boots). It's not like every fight in this game has to drop a Ridill to be worth doing...

also nynja, how does that explain why am2 has such low numerical reduction? i'll try diff tier 4 spells tonight
I don't know the answer, it was merely an observation of mine.
Its been shown that Magic Attack Bonus plays a significantly larger part in bigger damage spells than in small damage spells. more +INT helps tier 1 and tier 2 spells.Originally Posted by darkhero168
Your results are exactly what I would expect to see as the full yigit set has very little +INT on it, however does have a decent amount of +MAB.
That said, most BLMs likely will use yigit feet for their MAB setups, can arguably use hands for small nukes, and can make use of the hat on some occasions.
But he was testing Amir's magic damage reduction ^^;;
You could always use it for your resting macro with dark staff to get back MP faster with its massive amount of +hMP and 1 MP/tick refresh. The +MAB isn't bad either, but to balance it out you would have more INT in the rest of your remaining equip slots.

Merman's would give a better magic damage reduction I would imagine. Stats aren't as halfway decent as amir's but at least you don't need a full set to activate the damage reduction. I wonder if Breath attacks are reduced by the same amount, someone will have to partner up with a blu.![]()
Breath attacks are so neglible in the game that it hardly matters. Probably only Vrtra's Sable Breath does enough damage for people to care. But that's just a matter of kiting and positioning and angle, and the amount that the set seems to reduce makes even that useless. If wyrm aerial attacks were considered Breath attacks and not Magical, then it could matter. Looks like Coral gear/elemental resist builds ftw.Originally Posted by SassiAsura
