I'm sorry, but are you really going tp deprive some of your players' best loot in the game (poor looting system on SE) simply because you wish to avoid some drama that will be forgotten in a matter of weeks? If so, then you should simply break that so-called HNMLS and find yourself a social LS. A HNMLS, in general, is a LS that fights HNMs and strives to get the best loot for their player. If you don't do neither of those, then you're not a HNMLS and scientifically retarded.

I'm going to post a post I made in my LS about this topic.

The one I love the most is the CPNM. To be honest, I still find it fascinating that a weapon from a NM in 2003 is still better than any other weapon so far. I mean that's 3 years. Common knowledge has shown us that with every new expansion, there should be harder NMs and better lot (rewards). i.e Cerberus now. The fight is amazing and requires a lot more teamwork than Fafnir but has craptastic rewards. Now look at Cerberus; he's unclaimed half the time just like Vrtra.

They need to revamp pretty much their whole rewarding system. A drop from Nidhogg is still better than any other body piece for almost all jobs. A waist item for MNK is completely destroying all else so far, and was released back in 2003. Last by not least; The difficulty of these fights is beyond comprehension. It can as little as 10 mins to bring down Fafnir and about 20 mins for Nidhogg when they still drop the best loot in the game. If this was their ideology, why add more HNMs or NMs to the game when others can demolish their loot? For the fun? Maybe. But just like anything in life, the amount of input in the beginning should be proportional or exceed the output, in the end. SE is currently doing the opposite.
This pretty sums up one of the biggest problems for the end-game community, that and the RMT, botting and other things.
Hardcore can be defined many ways. Maybe it's just me, but I think that killing Bahamut v2 is a lot more hardcore than sitting around for three hours to be outclaimed 80% (or more) of the time by bots.

I really would love to know why Square doesn't think that bot claiming is a big deal in this game.

Are you saying nobody else wants to kill ulli, mee deggi, hoo mjuu, quu domi, serket, roc, king arthro, etc?

Then why have I heard so many complaints from people trying to camp against them to the point where they just give up and buy it?

Until I see RMT focusing on Tumbling Truffle and Jormungand, you don't have a valid point.
Veli's quote was sarcasm... I hope.
    I wonder, sometimes.

What happens when you're a "Hardcore player" Who has no desire to have a "Hardcore bot"?

I don't think I'd mind the kings so much if it wasn't mr. argus fest.

Also lemme rant about my day yesterday.

So I started a new toon (don't ask it makes sense in my head) in which to take nin to 75. It's on the same server as me (weee for pling) so it's not that bad remaking one. I was looking at gear choices and it seemed like O kote was definitely a good piece to get if you can. Well currently can't afford it, bcnm seals went to getting ni scroll. Still working on getting tags/points in assault to get items to sell. And can't do any anm atm (at least ones where friends will go).

So! wasn't a big deal but figured I'd give a lolshot at trying to camp deggi for them. Spent a whole day didn't even get to see deggi in yellow once. RMT were obviously hacking. I gmed them to feel better though I know those rmt have been there for 2 years so I know they'll still be there but I felt good about it.

Now the thing that's so ridiculous about all this is like Khamsin said, I'll end up farming up the gil for the kote but guess what? When I buy them who will I end up buying from? rmt since they have an insane monopoly on the drops. Does that make me "not-so-hard core?" or "hard core"? no it just means that I, and everyone else, are in essence helping rmt without having any other choice.

As for harcore abj. drops on kings. What defines hardcore? Fafnir and nidhogg are hard no doubt but once your ls gets the method they seem like forest hares. And yet drop the best items in the game. Whereas the newer hnms were even the best will still wipe to, drop a lot of crap. Doesn't make much sense that the "hardcore" have to stick to the same three zones they were at 3 years ago still trying to get everyone ridils and dalms.

I agree that the better the gear, the harder to obtain. But that should be more based on talent than whose bot went off first. And I'd say that if that were the case they need to imrpove the drops on the newer nms and cop dragons, since they are harder than faf/nid/aspi/kb.

What I define as hardcore is a player who raids constantly and strive to have the best gear possible. It could also mean a botter but that raids constantly. A not-so hardcore player is someone who get easily bummed out like one missed Fafnir or such then leaves the end-game scene.

With the recent lag-claim on HNMs and NMs, you're much better off to manually claim then bot claim. So, the legit players actually have a very good chance of claiming, better than before.

    The only two things I want fixed in this game are;

    1) End-game HNMs, mostly Zilart HNMs
    2) RMT

If they get rid and fix em, I'll be a happier player. :D

It sounds like you live in some magical fantasy land. NMs have been popping purple still.

qft. It's the same botters still getting the pulls.

Again the three kings aren't about talent, they're about who's bot gets lucky.

And I dunno, standing around in one zone for three hours waiting for someone's bot to go off to me isn't "hardcore" just means it's laundry time or something.

When you have LSs admitting to botting, like it's not a huge deal....why would anyone who doesn't want to cheat even try to go after Fafnir, Nidhogg, etc.? It has nothing to do with drama, and more to do with the fact that some LSs don't want to stoop to the level of bots just to have a shot at some nice gear.

Besides, there is nothing hardcore about using a bot to snag a HNM. Hell, there is nothing hardcore about waiting 3 hours and trying to claim him "the right way" either, when you know 90% of the people around you are cheating. You seem to think "pointlessly wasting time" is equal to "being hardcore".

I still think Wafik's question should be asked

"How is it that a normal everyday player can recognize an RMT however a trained GM cannot?" it's burried somewhere in the other thread maybe it was worded differently too but he'll get the idea. Make that your last question, you wouldn't want them to walk away from you before asking about other broken things Sea, Zilart Kings, PUP, Hydra, Goblin Wolfman, Absolute Virtue etc..

They should spread out the items more. Fafhogg has too many good drops that could easily be put on Wyrms that are barely approached. No one really gives a crap about Jormy anymore, so why not put a K.Body on him? Hydra and Cerberus have multiple heads, why not put Ridill on them that attacks multiple times. Leave Hrotti, Dalm, and assjammer on Faffhogg. Spread out the camps.

1 Abjuration, 1 NM isn't a bad system at all. I mean you got enough bodies to drop them for sure.

I have asked this of a GM before...asking wasn't it obvious to them that someone camping the same thing 24/7 is up to something suspicious? You'll just get the same smartass answer that this is no way to prove that someone is RMT.

I think it's a red flag though...since they're on all the time it's easier to see what they do while they're on. Are they giving all the gil to 1 player? Where does that gil go? etc.

Because 'normal player' involves a very different perspective of the game. Its just not that obvious when you're hopping server to server to specific places to answer calls and NOT playing the game as normal. You think they have the time to sit in eary?

Oh and a lot of what you listed as broken are not really broken.

Um, Joe you are retarded. They can see more than us and they do see how gilsellers act, just like we do. If they ever really "investigate" into a matter involving RMT, they've seen them.

They just don't know what they're seeing. Believe it or not, its only obvious to us because of the perspective we have had from playing this game so damn much. The GMs are just people they hired who likely didnt have much if any game experience. They don't get to camp NMs for 5 hours against gilsellers then do periodic searches for the gilsellers. We do. They go where they are called. They don't have spare time. Ever made a GM call and had no calls ahead of yours? Me neither. The problem is that they hired GMs early on and never started hiring players. IMO they need to give all GMs windowers to troll forums to get the juice and understanding a normal player has and/or hire real players. But the GMs themselves just don't see FFXI as we do.
