From what I recall, the games will make money based on how many people buy them from Live. This means the profit is only limited by how well the game is put together and subsequently how well received it is by the game community.

Well there are several downfalls that arise with that. If people try to make games just for the money then there's a good chance they'll get scared into making stuff they liked or feel that everyone likes and they'll avoid venturing out on any really strange ideas for a game. Also, the more effort that's put into making a game a good game can easily make development take over a year. Sadly I don't know many people at all that would dedicate that much time on something unless they were getting something out of it and I don't mean maybe getting paid once you finish.

I had a smn say that to me and my party in mire a couple of weeks ago, I responded with "np, we are at <pos> in mire" when he got to our party, I invited him, then told him "go solo since you are not a whm", kicked him then invited a whm that I asked immediately after the smn said he would not cure (it was only bad because we did not have the candy, so he had to take the boat to Nashmau) :D

I disagree. With a $99 price tag, the window for original thinking when it comes to games is wide open. Hobbyists have created some very interesting titles in the past for Windows (DirectX SDK is a free download), so I can only imagine that people who are interested in console development where resources are clearly defined (unlike the millions of PC configurations) will be able to churn out some fairly revolutionary titles. Of course, there will also be the insane number of really really really bad titles.
