The block rate is the same as any other shield out there as long as you have enough Shield Skill, and who uses PLD/WAR these days anyways? It's a battle between 3 (4 if Kaiser) Enmity and 25% magic damage reduction for a price difference of around 500 million gil

I'm not sure why anyone still tries to debate (well, much of anything) DRG on here, since it's not a good forum to have a serious conversation on the topic. And it's not like whether or not anyone agrees with you about whether or not they suck will make them suck or not suck any more/less. It might make you more emo, though.

Spear helps the entire LS, the mob has to die somehow. All relics except club, staff, and arguably Gaxe, sword, Gsword, and Axe have a major beneficial effect on the entire LS.

Generally speaking, yeah, I'd have to say that relics are pretty awesome. I never really had an opinion on it before because Kujata is so far behind the curve in many respects. I think we only have like 3 NAs with a stage5 relic? Whether or not the weapon itself is wtfownage, double Light/Dark is pretty nice, especially coupled with AM2.

I'd still probably rather have a stage5 horn in the LS, if it was really a choice between them, but stage5 weapons don't exactly make the LS worse in some way.

Because shield block proc'ing a lot and causing you to take a lot less damage has absolutely no effect on you holding hate?

Because taking a lot less magical damage sucks (since no mobs you ever fight use magical attacks, ever)?

If how hard it is to obtain or how much it costs to obtain is an issue, don't get one? That doesn't mean it sucks. The ugly hooker on the street corner is probably cheaper than taking a hot girl out to dinner, but does that make the hooker the better option somehow? Remember to use a condom, I guess. STDs are bad, mmmkay?

goddamn, theres no need to jump all over him, he was just giving a valid reason to not want aegis. Some people can devote themselves to it and some cant, fairly simple concept

It doesn't proc more then other shields, since the last shield change a Koenig Shield can attain the same block rate as Aegis can. Koenig Shield does that while all the while having Enmity, whereas Aegis has none. I'd personally take 3 or 4 more enmity then an occasional 25% damage reduction from magic.

Behemoth: Meteor, Thunderbolt (wtf is that move called)

Aegis has the same block rate as someone using alot of +shield gear to make it go off right? That's the selling point of Aegis, you dont have to alter your gear to have the good shield rate, so you have the best of both worlds (if +shield gear comes with downsides of sacrificing a nice slot, I have no idea because lolpld).

The previous selling point of aegis was the extremley frequent block rate when it came out, but then the shield patch which made all shields block good, completely obliterated that.

If you're getting an Aegis for Sky Gods you have problems.

Behemoth/KB is a joke, the only way Meteor should be getting off is if Thunderbolt lands on the person with hate.

Elemental Resist gear is going to take the damage from a wyrms airborne attacks down to nothing, Aegis really isn't going to add much of anything to it.

Aegis still needs around 300 shield skill to attain that block rate, which is the same case with a Koenig Shield.
