Go go +eleventy billion MP and maybe +20 INT/MND at most.

    /wrists @ new school RDMs.
serious, or the ones who use full af (mainly putting down equipping af hands and feet [edit] and legs at 75...) i was in a pt with one the other day on blm, who kept whining that he couldnt land anything.

General rule of thumb, work out the “best” equip for each slot.
What I mean by best is, MND vs Enfeebling trade off.

    For eg.
    Mahatma Slops vs Nashira Seraweels.
    +8 MND trade off with +5 Enfeebling = 1.6MND / enf skill

    vs something like

    Prism Cape vs Altruistic Cape
+4 MND trade off with +5 Enfeebling = 0.8 MND / enf skill

I would use Mahatma Slops 95% of times to be honest, while maintaining Altruistic Cape.

    Same goes for hands.
    Devotees +1 vs MCB

    AF body vs Mahatma Houplande

Play with each of the slots, and work out which combo provides the best utilisation of skill vs MND and you will be surprised with how potent your enfeeblings will be.

A lot of RDM’s keep Nashira Seraweels on FULL time, or dream about having one insisting it’s the best leg equip. Imo, overrated which I will probably use it 5% in my career.

    /em prepares flame shield.
    Nah, you're just about spot-on.

Mahatma Slops are the most underrated piece of gear in a RDM's lineup, and yes it happens to be the ugliest...but eh, RDM's get to look the best walking around so it's a tradeoff.

Once you get AF2 Chapeau, you never really have to worry about skill again. Once I had that + capped merits I could debuff almost everything in full MND minus the head slot.

If you don't have AF2 then yeah you'll probably need to leave on AF1 body which is a huge tradeoff but necessary. Once I capped merits (pre-AF2) I went with Errant Hpl and Elite Beret +1 and that seemed to work ok.

This was mentioned in another thread somewhere but skill isn't all that it's cracked up to be as most of you know (I had 343), boosting MND into the 130-140 range did wonders for your accuracy. I know fafhogg is a poor representation of a "hard" mob, but I used to debuff him at times in FULL mnd, with no skill gear at all and Paralyze would still land pretty easily. Needless to say the proc rate at that level is insane.

    @Wop

thanks for the insight, i was just curious if you were having problems landing spells with an all-out MND setup (i'd assume you attempted it since it seems you have access to it, minus maybe a faith torque)

i've always been a big fan of heavy emphasis on MND, worst case scenario you have to cast Paralyze 2 or 3 times because of resists, but when it lands you're totally fucking up the mob with procs.

and i couldnt agree more about seriously considering the tradeoffs between enfeeblingskill vs. MND gear. i don't have sea, which means i don't have access to cape/nashira. personally i don't think i'd wear the nashira legs over the mahatma slops.... i feel enfeebling torque and enfeebling earring+crimson/AF2head(and max merits) should typically be more than enough to land the spell with consistency.

Isn't there a MND cap on para/slow, or at least a point a which stacking more gives you diminishing returns? I seem to recall someone doing tests like that. Perhaps its possible to meet the MND cap and still use elemental staves to increase the potency and accuracy of your enfeebles on HNMs.

    <True Strike>.

Makes me wonder, if I am the only RDM here that uses Mistiltien + Numinous Shield+1 combo.
i would if i could get my hands on a Mistiltien... there was one in Battalia for 5mil the other night, I was asleep ;/.

anyway, just curious: how much enfeebling skill+ do you wear in other slots when you're enfeebling without a staff? i.e. mahatma vs nashira legs, af1 body vs crimson/errant etc etc.

its pretty much all about balance, but i'm looking forward to testing it out.
    Isn't Mythic wand +1 10 Mnd?

That's a big negative. Mythic Wand +1 is only +9 INT/MND, so for the absolutely largest epeen, you need the Mistilteinn.

    EDIT: Bah! I'm slow.

No, it's +9. Mistilteinn is the best MND weapon for a rdm. If I saw it for 5m I'd buy it in a heartbeat, even though I'm not even a rdm lol.

I don't really think E-peen is an applicable lament here. There's dumb E-peen (lolClaustrum), then there's E-peen, which despite its price, build on the stats of your job (Misteltienn). If you have the money, why not. D:

Yes but not going to happen on a HNM, stuff is like level 85-95, doubt people are going to cap a base stat against them.

How much potency does 10 MND add compared to using the appropriate HQ staff? HQ staves are +15% potency, correct? Or is the +% increase on potency different for enfeebles?

I will admit it's the best club out there... I dunno, maybe I just suck at making money, but +1 INT/MND for 5mil or more seems like a lot.

Its different. Magic Potency is like Magic Attack Bonus... only applies to numerical direct damage.

Status effects are another realm entirely.

you're not paying for 1MND and 1INT. you're paying to be the best/better than the next person's mythic wand, and have an item you'll never need to replace for that slot.

But the tank party RDM could merit club skill, and whack at Tiamat down by its feet for 1mp every 3tp!

    lol

Yes, the staves add nothing to potency for enfeebles...they do add a shit-ton of accuracy though, so it's a tradeoff.

My least-favorite staff arguement is the "I'd rather cast it once and have it stick than have to cast it 2 or 3 times", that is retarded in an HNM situation.

Silence, Gravity (though it's variable but long recast kills you), and Sleep are all staff-only. Para/Slow/Blind should be wanded (or at least high MND instead of skill) if at all possible.

I've found that when that happens, if you delete one word, and then retype it and hit Submit, it works normally.

Anyone know the duration of the buff on Deductive Obi? I don't want to blow the 300k or whatever it is for something that lasts 5 minutes.

    Or just his refresh

That is what works for me.

Septimus wins at RDM. I got the item for a wise piece back when they first came out. I sold it and bought a snow ring instead.
