I might foot-in-mouth here...but I don't see how you tank anything beyond fafnir as pld/war without AA. Maybe with 3 tanks splitting aggro? Shit...if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

You don't PLD/WAR without AA on higher shit unless you have aegis, etc. AA rotation does seem very "last year" compared to tanking methods that most use today, but if you do utilize PLD/WAR then not using AA is kind of retarded.

i tend to agree with you. for those LS's that do still use PLD/WAR when the NIN/DRK's arent around using AA on Timat(prime example) when lands and then pops mighty strikes you will definetly want an AA rotation.

Even an Aegis PLD would like to have AA on mighty strikes tiamat, sure i bet he would love to try it without but even with its high block rate tiamat 2hr is gonna still hit like a truck that was dropped from a plane

Our first couple tiamat kills were with PLD/WARs and AA rotation... I think it was more fun than our current method Always seemed more intense trying to get the AA on perfect timing.. Though its much cleaner now when we do get a chance to fight lol.

Ive seen a JP LS do a 11-12 man Tiamat with 1 PLD/WAR tank, from 100%-0%. AA rotation kicks your ass. This same tank used PCC, RSE MP/INT waist, NQ Behemoth Mantle...and tanked her like a pro. Never underestimate WHM/SMNx2, RDM/SMN, BRD/SMN haha.

Edit: Point is, an amazing support team of mages can make any tank look good.

I'm assuming you guys are talking about the Limbus Omega, not the CoP Mission Omega. Anyways, we tend to use a full Koenig/Aegis PLD/WAR in that bc, and its piss easy...even pre-Aegis.

most COP mobs i leveled on were VT as well... ule range was vastly VT mobs with a couple IT in there depending on the level they poped as. and i think i remember some of the eye's being T but not sure.

deco weapons? all VT (i know not COP mob)

if i remember correctly the biggest issue with meriting in the past was the complete lack of IT mobs (outside of aura stats) with decent pop times for nice chains

The irony now is that alot of the old zones now feel like amazing xp due to the mass overcrowding in ToAU zones. Doing about 10k an hour in Sea a few days ago was the best xp/hour I've seen in weeks, entirely based on the fact we had no competition.
