And apparently you can do this thing called "removing merits," which would let you put a full 8 into Sword and 4 into Axe (you know the Sword would be helpful since apparently you use WAR to get merits for your PLD, so I guess really you should be having Shield Merits huh , but then again why bother when you probably tank in an Earth Staff (Run-on Sentence intentional)).

i just didnt feel like exping for a while and didnt want stored merits... i never said i liked warcry merits for anything other then even timers cuz im lazy

since TOA has come out ive been focusing on other things like STR, combat skills, pld merits, etc before i wanted to go back and remove merits.

once i have capped everything i want to cap i will start experimentation with everything else

basically my problem is this: i start by saying ok im going to finish STR im just 18 merits away... NP right? well i get 5 merits and stop exping for a while and im bored in mog house looking at all the nice things i can do so i put some into cover or chivalry or tomahawk or war charge

with the new merits its alot harder to go back and focus on getting STR5 and capping everything else off like HP(4>8) and Sentinel(0>5) and cover(2>5) and gaurdian (0>3)

when i put merits into warcy i was just being wasteful and lazy

i like axe merits cuz the extra dmg on my main weapon is nice... its not like another 4 merits on my already low skill level sword is going to make such a massive differencethat its going to make me want to dual wield with joyeuse and just do vorpal's cuz its so amazing... all you ppl that have the sword know that ridill doest whiff as much as everyone that doesnt have one is saying it does so the 4 extra merits IMO (without parsing/testing personally) arent worth it

Sooo...I'm gonna use this topic and possibly derail it with a good Meat build for WAR! Recently I tried Meat in an EXP PT on WAR, since it's nearly impossible to do on Mamools or Demons in U.Range. I was on Trolls though, and recently picked up a Sniper +1 and HQ Mufflers, so I decided to see how well I could do with a meat build. The Rampage numbers were nice (broke 1200 5 times in a row @ one point), as was the hit % (88% on Trolls). RDM wasn't really gravitying much, since it was just a RDM + BRD/NIN (don't ask).

Head: Walahra Turban (5% Haste)
Neck: Peacock Charm (10 ACC)
Body: A.Hauberk (15ACC, 15ATT 10STR/10DEX)
Forager's Mantle: (3STR 15ATT)
Swift Belt: (3ACC -5ATT 4% Haste)
Byakko's Haidate: (15DEX 5% Haste)
Amir Feet: (6ACC 5ATT)
Sniper's +1: (7ACC)
Raja's Ring: (5STR/5DEX Store TP+5)
Suppanomimi: (Dual Wield/5 Sword)
Brutal Earring: (Store TP+1 Double Attack+)
Maneater: (5ACC/16ATT)
Fire Bomblet: (6ACC/6ATT)
Hedgehog Pie: (5ACC 90ATT 6STR)

(0/3 on Big Bomb, dont have it yet) I normally wear Dusk Gloves and Unicorn Leggings, but just cringed at the amount of time Im sitting in yellow in EXP PTs (I ALWAYS have hate) so I changed to Amir for now unless someone can convince me otherwise. My only tossup is between using Peacock or Chiv Chain, since I hate meleeing in such a small amount of STR.

Also I'm kinda against Dusk gear, (I've never owned feet, but use Gloves all the time when I know I'll be sitting in one spot tanking something) since they can really hurt your parser when running to engage mobs. I've seen it, and when someone is engaging a whole set of swings before you because they get there quicker, it makes a huge difference in the long run. Anyway...just figured I'd show Takedown what a real Meat setup can look like, and end up doing VERY well with it. Also, any of these accuracy items, especially the Mufflers and Feet can be removed with Haste/Att gear if you're fighting anything below a VT-IT mobs. In Dynamis? use Dusk Gloves/Unicorn Leggings/Dusk Feet. In Limbus? Use Dusk Gloves/Unicorn Leggings/Dusk Feet.

Oh yeah...and if you use Red Curry with this setup...it's fucking phenomenal.

Yeah I dont know why I even asked, since its 5ACC, and I give up alot more in other slots for that, as opposed to 3STR Store TP+1.

Not coming to anyone's defense here but, has anyone proven that you can't DA with Ridill? Everyone knows you can't hit more than 3 times but, I don't know it seems since my DA merits I swing 2-3 times more often.

Just seeing that makes me think you can DA on a single hit, or even double for a 3rd, just obviously never a 4th.

Also the fact that XP WAR is using Rampage, unless you're retarded and suck cock, I think DA merits for not only that little extra TP gain for the Axe, but for the overall chance to DA and DAx2 on Rampage is worth the merits. Now if a Ridill WAR is using like, Brutal, then you clown his sorry ass unless he's macroing it in for WS.

But come on, let's be fair with the insults :/

BTW to the guy that said not to XP with AF2 gloves, I parse equal to or more than some Dusk Glove WARs. Oh ya and gigas bracelets suck cock, Heca Hands do it like a trucker.

Also... you're a fucking moron if you use Unicorn Leggings for TP burn. Over half the time you don't have the HP to effect latent, and 3 STR is crap compared to other options. Going to have to say Dusk Feet or, for the poor Adaman feet / Amir Feet, with AF1 in WS Macro set.

But overall don't believe half the hype any faggot says you need for your WAR. Obviously there are accepted setups that will put you into the categories of NQ, HQ, and terrible, but just follow the basic laws of TP Gain and WS setup and you're ok.

There are Man/Jugg WARs that dominate Wood/Ridill WAR all over the place. Just pay attention to what kindof of numbers your doing and how well you gain TP and adjust it and try shit out.

very nice setup, similar to mine but obviously superior due to ebody/sniper+1/brutal/rajas/amir/swift belt

ive tried using meat(siskebabi only so far) and i have had some decent results. i definetly notice higher rampage's, alot more 1200-1400's++

and of course as u all suspect i do miss slighty more then with ridill in the offhand but not enuff that warrants 4 sword merits when i could just stack some more acc gear for WS... just put in my snipers/fowling earring/lifebelt/maneater

i didn't really adjust my gear macros when testing meat i just wanted a quick look at the possibilites and boro'd some from the mnk in my pt

once i get parser up and running mebbe ill do some personal tests to see whats up

i never doubted that meat was good on war because i knew it was i just almost always use sushi cuz its cheap, effective, and readily availble when im in a rush(i never exp outside of thickets, mire sux, trolls diamond hide is gay)
