Chocobo Raising Now Available! (08/21/2006)

Sorry if this has been asked already, I just got my chocobo egg yesterday lol. When you set a plan for "7 days", is that 7 vana'diel days, or 7 earth days? One of the NPCs mentions that chocobos are sensitive to weather effects, and that it can be beneficial to take your chocobo for a walk when the weather is the type that he likes, and harmful to take your chocobo for a walk when it's the type he doesn't like. So you would think that the plans would be vana'diel days so you coudl arrange the schedule so that you coudl always walk him during Firesday, for example. If it's earth days you wouldn't have that level of control.

7 RL days.

And the care schedule is automatically set up to have a constant plan of "Basic Care", which is the minimum level of care, giving minor boosts to all stats. Caring for your chocobo really only increases its affection for you, which is what almost all of the Care Schedule activities decrease. So, no, your chocobo cannot die even if you don't personally care for it everyday.

anyone elses choco sick? mine needs tokopekko wildgrass... I gave it one and its not unsick yet -_- how many do you need to give it? this shit is expensive

Seems Resting Care plan is kinda a dud. Put mine on it, and its in such a deep sleep that I cant even feed it. Only watch over it. I guess its the plan to get your chocobo better from an illness.

named my chocobo parfait aki... reminds me of some soorta exotic desert cake... thing O_o

parfait is french for perfect
parfait is a dessert ... its kind of like ice cream or a sherbert
it is basicaly mixed whiped cream, eggs, and blended fruit frozen (i like strawberries for this)
put it in your freezer ... stir every 30mins untill frozen (or the heavy ingredients will sink to the bottom and it will end up not tasting good, or looking good for that matter)
btw theres other ingreds aswell, i'm sure you can find a recipie online if your really interested in making one

let it thaw for 2-5mins before serving its supposed to be slightly slushy

On the parfait subject, I had named my girl Caramel Parfait. I hope others can see the name of your chocobo, I think we'll make a wonderful pair! <3 I was quite disappointed at the lack of food theme words to pick from, though. ; ;

And aki is Japanese for autumn/fall. =)

most americans will know parfait as a layered desert, sort of a single serving size of triffle, with whipped cream, cake, fruit and ice cream layers. DQ has the well known "Peanut Buster Parfait".

I feed my Chocobo some Herbal Paste (which uses that grass) and had the Plan for the next day be Rest. The status report the next day was that he was fully cured of illness. But as mentioned before, you cant do anything with him/her on days when you have him rest. I hope that helps you

I'm not completely understanding the plan system. Lets say I want my chocobo to rest and its his 4th day. Should I set him to rest on Plan 0, or Plan 1, which is after a 4-day long Plan 0?

i believe it is a cycle and plan 0 will be next day's plan.
Like lets say you set it to rest on Plan 3, next day that resting day will be plan2, then plan1 then 0
I am not sure though it is kinda confusing with 4 different plans that can be set to 1-7 days each

I gave my choco some vegetable paste to eat when it was "straving" took 3 portions to fill up.

gave him carrot paste when was "very hungry" (which was what it said after 1 feed of vegetable paste) and was full after 1.
so i think carrot paste fills him up more than vegetable.

Probably, but not enough info now to tell. I could see Cupid Worms and Toke grass going that high, for a stack. Cupid worms (Seem) Great, and if your choco is sick a Toke grass is (Untill proven otherwise) needed for its recovery.
