Well, at least its only 3 more days until we can ride our chocobos, if what the chocoguy says about being a month from turning in your egg to being ridable is accurate.

I think they said "about a month" to go from egg to adult. I'm gonna guess Day 34 or 35 will yield an adult bird.

I've had one bird on a regimen of carrying packages every day since Day 19. I haven't seen affection drop below parent once. It kind of makes me wonder how much of a negative those "big" down arrows really are.

I have chocobos on two characters. The chocobo for my main doesn't go below parent affection because of delivering packages, but the chocobo for my second character does. I always do the same care actions with both chocobos.

Septimus's chocobo has a sensitive personality, has never lost a race, and stats seem to move up sooner than Atumre's chocobo- beyond that there is absolutely no difference between the two as far as I can see.

I'm almost 100% confident this is the way it will work; as I mentioned a few pages back (around 60?). The idea of abilities being passed on (like in pokemon) that somebody mentioned earlier is worth noting too. Also, to all of you questioning how to raise chocobos without decreasing other stats, Basic Care!

Get as high strength/endurence as possible. Breed with someone that did the same. Do it till you get a highest possible strength/endurence level. At this point breed with someone thats been doing the same thing except with the smarts. When they breed you just keep doing basic care and it should be enough to get really high in everything.

Yep. That will probably be the best way to do it. Also, it's worth mentioning that the decrease arrows in the table might be very insignificant and could be as minute as food, making it possible to get an exceptional chocobo in much fewer pedigrees.

If you speak to the guy you get honeymoon tickets from and discuss breeding, he does state that some stats are passed from parent to child, attributes are passed from parent to child, and the honeymoon ticket type used may boost certain stats as well.

Ditto! Going to work out pretty good, the next tier of care you get the big arrow thing for strength. There isn't one for endurance.

So first we have to have a generation of crappy chocobos to breed into not as crappy chocobos which we later breed into decent chocobos which (if we're extremely lucky and develop some kind of breeding bot) will eventually lead us to future generations of rediculously overpowered chocobos.
