Me too, it's pissing me off lol. I know I fucked up by mixing Listening to Music and Walk around Town, but I only did that for like 3-4 days. After I found out, I did nothing bout Walk around Town and fed 1-2 Vomp Carrots per day.

It seems that certain chocobo's are born with certain predispositions toward a certain stat/color. I noticed this first when I fed my chocobo a Vomp Carrot early on in its development, and it gobbled it up (loved the food). This means that the chocobo has a certain disposition toward bitter/sour foods, which SE equates in its chocobo foods to strength/endurance. The way to determine which physical status your chocobo should develop, the trainer will tell you about its personality: I.E, Patient for endurance, or fit for military use for strength. Don't know about mental predispositions yet though.

    Edit: First post lol!

I have both mental stats at substandard (the second level) and I never fed it any mental foods, it's just from my training options. My criteria for food was any food that costs less than 70 gil. I am actually turning a profit from the 200 gil a day from exhibition :D

Day 29 = BIG chicken. And the choco lady in Windy is sending me to get a whistle from Sandy.

    White tips = yellow chicken

Best, the racing chicken with the black tips is now black with a white tail.

Bah, I took my chocobo out for a long walk and tried to search for the item to get the chocobo whistle and she noticed what I was doing so I didn't get it...and it took enough energy away from her so that I can't even take her out for a short walk now.

Go on a walk (long) and Dig For Treasure (plan) and are the only two new options atm. Ask for a chococard and retire are also available now from the main menu.

Edit - Missed "Deliver messages" and "Act in a play"

Delivering messages, Digging for treasure, and Acting in a play for care schedule. Long walk also added.

Retire Chocobo and Chococard options are also added, and a "quest" to get your chocobo whistle.

Mine will devour sweet, sharp, or sour foods with equal gusto, as long as I mix tastes. I can feed it any of those three as greens or carrots and get a "one gulp" result.

On the other hand, my chocobo, though it's never gotten a stat past poor, is the most even-tempered creature imaginable. Perpetually "parent" levels of affection, won enough races to get the "happy story" from Best's raisers, and absolutely no personality quirks whatsoever. Done great at carrying packages and being shown off at the stables alike.

I may have discovered the mellowest bird in the world- if it wasn't so perky, I'd accuse the stable of slipping it weed in the gyhsahl greens. It's occasionally gotten perky enough to go airborne briefly, usually after listening to music.

Did you retire your chocobo already? Can't you keep raising it, upgrading its stats for a while before retirement, even while riding it?

Na, didn't retire her...yet...guessing you can trade another egg anytime once they get big but it will most likely ask you to retire your exsisting chicken.

Now that the chocobos are finally grown up enough to see their colors, I wonder if black (or is it grey) and blue chocobos have specific personalities. People who are getting the color chocobos, what kinds of personalities did your chocobo have while growing up?

I traded my first egg in Sandy. One day when I was messing around in Windy I went to see if I could check on my Choco and they asked for egg.

I've been assuming you could potentially be raising 3 eggs at once if you wanted to deal with all the traveling but haven't had anyone that wanted to test a theory.

Mine is blue and had an enigmatic personality for a day while a chick, but it went back to being personalityless and remained that way.

You can only have one egg active at a time, the VCS person will say "you already have an egg......". The current whistle quest seems to be another SE dice roll fest too. When you take it for a walk now it adds a small CS with the option to "Watch over the chocobo" or "Look around". There is a chance that the item isnt there (twice) and that the choco will turn around and stop you (once). This still drains the choco's energy which means you get 3/4 chances per day for this crap.

Hopefully there's something else to this, but right now it looks like you get to roll dice 3/4 times and hope you find whatever this item is.

My chocobo is still a chick, but when she became perky I decided to add a parasite worm to her diet that day - she had no personality as of yet. The next day, she was sick and lost her perkiness, but had a sensitive personality. She got better the next day and regained her perkiness, so I tried another parasite worm. The day after that, she lost her perkiness again her personality had changed from sensitive to enigmatic. Her regular diet consisted of Azouph Greens and Zegham Carrots, mainly listening to music. She has stayed enigmatic since then, and is about to hit the adolescent stage.

I can't 100% sure for now until I get the chance to raise more chocobos, but my friend has a patient choco chick right who has been fed a parasite worm today, we should be able to see the change tomorrow. Has anyone else experimented with parasite worms and has had similar results?
No change on my friend's chick the next day after being fed a parasite worm. =/ Hers has regained perkiness though so she is trying the worm feed again today.

Mine is still enigmatic after turning into an adolescent, blue-tipped feathers, from uncapped ISNM "Compliments to the Chef".
