I'm glad my choco is in sandy, so I don't have to travel for the whistle quest.

Stupid yellow choco with reddish/brownish tips.... everyone else's yellow choco has darker tips?
Normal chocobo have brownish tip, at least the one in the stable. I would assume its the same for every yellowOriginally Posted by nekoshoonen

There is only 3 chocobo types at the moment i'm fairly sure (unless someone gets that burned-looking young chocobo at some point). yellow blue black.. i kept holding out hope that the young chocobos could branch off again going into adult.. since there are more .dats for adult models than for young chocos in model viewer, but doesnt look to be the case as of now
edit: also, yellow chocobos from breeding is really gay. the only thing that lets people know i'm riding a raised choco instead of a rental one is my slower movement speed. Also, just in a quick test with a friend (who has black choco), mine ran at the same speed with substandard strength as his did with poor strength![]()
got yellow chocobo and immediately retired.
Retirement cs is kinda neat. Goes through all the different stages of your chocobo. I probably would of continued it, but it was the 5th day in a row my chocobo was sick and I let it rest+ gave it grass. Just doesn't seem worth the trouble or the money, and it turning out yellow didnt help things any either heh.
Yellow chocobos are the chocobo Yin would ride![]()
They did mention something about physical apeparance changes that would occur based on the stats of the chocobo that would not be reflected until the next update. I sure hope there will be more to distinguish their appearance then, because I got stuck with a yellow one =\.

I wanted a black chocobo, but at least the blue goes pretty well w/ the ridill and adaman hauberk
even xavier's shoes match with his chocobo.
I was hoping for a green one, but apparently those aren't implemented yet so now I don't really want a chocobo at all.![]()
I still have a yellow one....I want to retire mine already.
Why would you not want a chocobo just because its not green? You don't want a chocobo because it would be useful?Originally Posted by Kiro

Is there really a reason for people to raise a yellow chocobo? Like, at all?Originally Posted by Tahngarthor
Their speed, as far as we've been able to tell, would seem to cap out at rental speed. Their ride duration is probably a little longer, but how often is that a concern? You can only call them once a day, and they can't go places a normal choco can't.
The only saving grace might be the abilities, which no one has figured out how to teach or what they do, if anything outside the Choco Circuit, which will probably be as useful as Fish Ranking.
So really, if your chocobo doesn't have coloration it's in your best interest to just fucking abort it.
So why does the whistle have a 5 min recast timer then?Their speed, as far as we've been able to tell, would seem to cap out at rental speed. Unless the developer's brains have rotted into a puddle of goo, i'm pretty sure you can use it in such places as zitah, or most other places with an outpost. Surely you dont think it wouldnt be useful to hop on a chocobo from there?
YAY I CAN GET TO BOYAHDA 15 SECONDS FASTER NOW.
And all it cost was a few 100k and a month of my time, thanks SE.

Again, though... how often is the duration of your chocobo ride a problem? How often does the average highlevel really use a chocobo?
