Chocobo Raising Now Available! (08/21/2006)

My chocobo's head is still in the clouds, even after I gave the card to someone to mate with. Is there anyway to 'cure it' from being lovelorn or should I just whore it out?

Oh and I reached lvl 2 Strength yesterday and Endurance today. Has anyone learned any abilities yet?

Yes, have Auto-Regen and Gallop on my Chocobo.

My chocobo finally reached adulthood today (Day 29) and it somehow got stuck on a Basic Care plan which has 5 days left on it. But strangely this is the first day since yesterday I've checked it and yesterday it did one day of Packages. So shouldn't it be 6 days left if it defaulted to the 7 day basic care? I hate this fucking GUI, they need a new one.

Anyway.... my chocobo is BLUE and I'm very proud. But I want to ask a question, and hopefully there are others in the same situation as me. My Chocobo has been getting sick on a daily basis. And today was the first day I checked on it after feeding it a Tokopoke grass or whatever, and it wasn't healed. Usually it heals after feeding it the grass and waiting a day. Has anyone else seen their chocobo's health deteriorating like I have?

No sarcasm. Breeders were told what they needed to do to increase % chance to learn abilities, alot of people don't listen to their npcs.

BTW, Story of Impatient Chocobo(from Hantilleon) = Gallop
Story of Happy Chocobo(from Bashraf) = Auto-Regen
When you read the chocobo the story, and the chocobo learns the ability, a light-bulb pops up above the chocobos head, wasn't exactly the CS I thought it'd be. While trying to teach the bird the story, when the bird learns it, it refreshes at least 25% of the birds energy that day for learning the ability.

Anyone else able to confirm which abilities the other stories give? I have my theories on how they coorelate, but I prefer to stfu until I have solid evidence.

What type of Chocobo did you raise. What color is it. What stages in development did it learn the abilities. Please provide more information than just randomly saying your chocobo has learned abilities. I'm still calling bullshit though.

Yellow chocobo, Adult stage of development, feeding Azouph Greens to help keep affection due to adult care plans having a high negative effect on affection. There have to be other people with chocobo abilities learned cause I know I made a few mistakes with my bird along the way that would've slowed down the learning process.

I just looked back at my chocobo SS when he first grew up, I got the "Just look at those sturdy legs". Mine was a "Faintly" egg from NPC and I raised it mostly for discernment and digging (I guess a "strong beak" would have been better).
We already know that color seems to be mostly random, with a 70% or so chance of being yellow no matter what, but what about these other traits, strong leg, large beak, etc?

So is there a pattern with initial egg choice? Can people post what message they got on day 29 or so when their chocobo became adult, and what their initial egg was (and possibly every extra information possible too).

Since the search function of BB forums isn't that great let me posit a mostlikely already answered question:

My chocobo continues to sleep on days when it's care plan is set to something besides Rest or Basic Care. How do I break it out of that cycle? Do I have to always waste two days doing a Plan0:Rest>Plan1:Basic Care until the next version update fixes this bug?

All I know is "Rest" is the devil.

On another note, my chocobo doesn't have any abilities, but it has level 3 strength/endurance. >.> Though I am on day like.. 36 :/ I did a lot of checking over it, story telling so it may have dropped my STR/END some too. Oh well T_T Almost average.

Auto-Regen does not restore the energy you expend when you care for the chocobo. Most of the attribute stats are geared for the racing circuit.

The chocobo learned the abilities with little difficulty at "Average" Discernment, it took a couple of days of reading.

Mine's been at a bit deficient on both mental stats for a number of days now, I can't imagine I'm far off average. I'll try worrysome chocobo once it gets there since we don't know what that correlates to yet.

i think those are for digging, the "new items you can dig" will need this ability maybe?...if it is for racing it will probably dig up some kind of items during a race...but its suppose to be an auto-race <.<.... i dunno

It's unfortunate that Auto-Regen won't help digging at all.
