Seems like it. Her choco was stuck in "head in the clouds" mode for a week plus. So she used the worm, reset all her work, and didn't fix the prob.

Which is kind of odd, since there's nothing that high stats in an area would prevent. It's not as if having high strength would prevent you from converting to discernment, or prevent you from learning certain abilities.Originally Posted by ValoursLOLDRG
Did it reset her stories and the abilities her chocobo has learned, too? Hopefully it at least preserved those.
Pretty sure it was only the 4 main stats. I know the stories didn't get taken away but I'm not sure about abilities it had learned (not sure if it even knew any).Originally Posted by Khamsin
EDIT: On the plus side(if there is one), she said it didn't take long to raise those same stats back up to where they were before the worm was used. Still shitty to have to waste those days/weeks getting the stats back up.
yeah, we're gonna need a summary at page 1 of this thead... I wanted information about the best foods to raise your choco, but searching in 100 pages is too long o.o
Mine was actin up for almost 2 weeks and when he snapped out of it he hated me. I just mated him... and he hates me even more. I say fuck him he's gettin retired as of tonight. And I'll just wait til the update to try a new egg.Originally Posted by Kaylia
So her chocobo must have had low stats, if it didn't take long to get them back?Originally Posted by ValoursLOLDRG
I believe she was up to Average on Discernment not sure about the others.
Maybe it resets them but easier to get back to where they were for situations like this? I really don't know wtf the point of the worm is other than initial frustration/shock once you see what it does.
Maybe it's effects are totally random, but I really don't feel like testing it after seeing what happened.
I wonder what would have happened if she had tried to raise different stats than what her chocobo already had.Originally Posted by ValoursLOLDRG
e.g. can Kuno convert her first-class strength/endurance chocobo into a first-class discernment/receptivity chocobo in only a week?
Also, if the rate of growth was increased, was the rate of stat decay (via care plans that lower a stat) left the same?
Maybe you can get up to First-Class in mental or physical stats, then use a worm, and get both physical and mental stats up to Average since they'll be growing faster than they'd be decaying.
Could very well be possible. I just started on a new egg yesterday. If I'm able to get one ability maxed or close to I'll bite the bullet and try it out.Originally Posted by Khamsin
I doubt it. My choco is black and patient; it probably would fail alot of the mental ones.Originally Posted by Khamsin
My chocobo is blue with no personality, though it did show an enigmatic personality for a day or two as a chick.Originally Posted by Not Kuno
It's doing just fine at mental stats, but probably would be better if it actually had that enigmatic personality still, I guess.
Though I guess that does bring to mind another possibility. If you've been training your chocobo's mental stats and find it turned out black on day 19, maybe you could give it a worm and raise its physical stats quickly, instead, and get them to a higher level than its mental stats were.
my new choco has had the "would be suitable for military use" message since the day after she hatched. has there been any sort of consistency to chick personality to adult type yet? just curious.
I have used all 3 worms.
Whati have noticed taht teh effects are low to very high.
Example:
Cupid: Could up love to extreme parent love.. or jsut one level or even drop it one level.
Parasite: Take all your abilities... friend tried it, lost them all.. wonder if with luck you get a level up. (not about to try it pretty hard to get lv3 str and lv3 discerement T_T)
Gorgeuous: Cures hunger and health goes up a bi tmore and almost nothing sometimes.
I checked on my chocobo after 4 days of being logged off, he had an injury that healed, he got sick and healed the next day while i was still logged off, and digging gave me 1200 gil. His discernment went up to "Outstanding" too, but he was down to just "he likes you a lot"...
I kept reading stories today, and I finally learned the final fifth story for bore! The most interesting thing is that his receptivity went up one level when that happened, to level 4. Now from the 6 options I only have the "random chitchat" option left, but I am pretty happy with him, he could auto-retire anytime at this point kinda.
Apparently you haven't learned of the advent that is FFXIclopedia.Originally Posted by Kross
So... my chocobo is fucked.
After I fed it the fourth cupid worm its stats locked in place at 4/3/1/1. They didn't change after 8 days of delivering messages. I tried feeding it a parasite worm; nothing. Now I'm just gonna make it rest... I don't care if it goes into a coma at this point, because it's worthless as long as stats seem to be locked.
Well, the chocoguy did caution you not to give it too many cupid worms.Originally Posted by Kerberoz

Already retired.
After testing, what happens if you don't check on your bird. Slightly warm egg - Day 24, my bird is a Female, white tipped feather (yellow).
Boo
fed my chocobo a parasite worm yesterday while itw as still hungry
did absolutely nothin that i could tell
average discernment, a bit defiecient receptivity
it all stayed the same
if it helps, it gave me bluish-white swirls when it ate it and it also gobbled it in 1 gulp
fed it 3 sandy carrots after which it gobbles up in one gulp as well
