Sorry the reason I asked about the 25/25 whistle is because of this line of dialog:

Which I read to mean, "Your chocobo gets slower, etc. after you use a few charges, so get a 25/25 whistle often." But maybe I'm misreading it?

It says the whistle's power gets weaker, not the chocobo's. If your chocobo can still hear the call of a weak whistle, and come to your side, then I'm fairly sure your chocobo will be just as strong as always.

I'm guessing its just a way to explain why you can only use it 25 times, because after the 25th it is so weak your chocobo can't hear it anymore or something.

good luck with that when it turns to adult, fails every activity you ever put in into, is lovesick nonstop, and runs away every couple days.

it's sure fun lemme tell ya
ACTUALLY!! .. if you ffed your chocobo one feed all the time. I witll cem to love it and it wil give affection... and... i think the higher your stat as a parent the more lovesick it gets... freud?

yea, it's the whistle getting weaker, its just a way to explain the limited number of charges, not the chocobo getting weaker.

Nah not true... I've consistently had parent status from day 1, only losing it briefly when unable to get online. My bird has been lovesick twice, for one day each time.

My chocobo is taking a long time to get past the Impressive stage of Receptivity. It's been that for over a week. Last 4-5 days have been flawless Act in a Play, got 400 gil, but still Impressive. No sicknesses either. The 4-5 days prior to that, he was ill and lovesick, and failed his Act in a Play each time. Altogether, he's been doing Act in a Play for 8-10 days, and still on the same rank as he started. So he has to be close to Outstanding here, pretty soon.

Mine is pretty much in the same boat. I was just wondering why his receptivity doesn't go up as fast anymore myself..

Btw grats Xeno. Now you should learn some abilities maybe, but which ones... Maybe make some eggs before you learn abilities so your next generation won't have the risk of having an ability you later decide you don't want.

I gave my chocobo a parasite worm and it immediately dropped its STR by one rank.

    * Gallop - Burst of speed, Is learned from the Impatient story
    * Canter - by defenition faster than trot but slower than the gallop, Is learned from the curious story
    * Burrow - Dig?, Is learned from the Worriesome story
    * Bore - Better version of dig?, Is learned from the Young story
    * Auto regen - Improves rate of recovery, Is learned from the Happy story

The best ones out of this is probably gallop and canter. Auto-regen I have no clue about and the other two are useless =|.

Gallop/canter affect your running speed on normal chocobo? Or is it for the race only?

Gallop and Canter have no use right now. They do not affect chocobo speed at all. I imagine they will be implemented later when they add chocobo racing. Auto-regen also has no effect yet.

Burrow and Bore are the only ones that already work, they widen the range of items you can get from digging but the new items are always worse than the original pool, and given that you can now only dig 100 items, they actually hurt any chance of profit.
Also if a zone is dug up having burrow or bore won't help, you still won't be able to dig up anything. Bore is not any better than burrow, just slightly different.

Does anyone have any experience now of breeding 2 colored chocobos and getting a chick that same color?

If I want a green one will I ever get one by breeding a black and a blue one together?

The NPC says coloring is kind of like eye color works IRL, or something. So that means that if you want a green one, the parents have to have some green in them somewhere.

I wonder if my blue chocobo has any yellow genes in him, or if he's 100% dominant and recessive blue.

From what I have read, 2 blue can still make a yellow baby, since the yellow gene is ALWAYS the dominant one.

BUT then again, 1 blu and 1 black chocobo also made a green chocobo, so idk what you would get breeding blue + blue lol.
