Celerity is the only salad you can feed your chocobo (other than the HQ Tornado), but they can get pricey. Have you tried Tokopekko yet? It's a cheap alternative that is supposed to cure most ailments... I'm not 100% on that, but why not guinea pig for us? ^_~

I fed it Tokopekko while it was sick and depressed and it just cured sickness. I guess I'll buy a salad and test it out if he's still emo tomorrow >_>

my adolescent choco is yellow with white feathertips ... am i stuck with another gimp choco or is it possible for yellow with white feathers to grow up into a non-yellow chocobo?

Every chocobo that I have ever heard of being white feather tipped has grown up yellow.

I retired my chocobo last night because its stats hadn't raised in 3 weeks.

I got a Blue VCS Plaque, though... I guess this means you get a plaque each time you retire a chocobo? So all I gotta do to get a Yellow VCS Plaque is just raise a yellow chocobo past Day 19 (to make sure its yellow) then retire?

I thought it had been decided that first-generation color was completely random, having nothing to do with where you got the egg.

However, for what it's worth. My blue choco (2nd, first was yellow) came from the quest egg. If you want to increase your odds, find 2 people with blue chocos, pay them for chococards and mate them to get an egg that will most likely end up blue.

Mine grew up 2 days ago (yellow orz) and has the same look and beak. Thought it looked a different from my last one. Feathers seem a little more brownish too. Will have to wait till I ride it to see if there is a difference.

My husband and I both obtained our new chocobo eggs using Jeuno Tour plan (bred my yellow M to a friend's blue F) and his bird grew up to be blue, and mine came up red which was totally unexpected. Tour plan may just increase chance the chick is born with any abilities the mother has learned, like being able to pass Bore or Gallop on to the 2nd gen. I'm inclined to believe choice of honeymoon plan has little to no bearing on the chick's color, just breeding to a colored bird in the first place gives the best chance of getting a colored chocobo.
