What merits do you have so far? There was absolutely nothing appealing in the first BST merits, (maybe call beast if you do alot of bst events). Could this axe make meriting intimidation rates actually worthwhile?

Guillotine is still far better than Catastrophe in almost every situation :/ SA+Catastrophe isn't realli impressive either. The WS just opens up some more skillchain possibilites because it's on the Gravitation side of Darkness. (Yey I can Darkness with a SAM now!). At 300 TP, Spiral Hell does more than twice the damage of Catastrophe. At around 200 TP the damage seems to be about the same between the two WS.

Grats on the Axe! That's one good looking Relic.
Can't wait to see your further test results. May your WS modifier not suck total ass.

I've just seen differently...
Get your fucking DRK discussion out of this thread. More Guttler action prz.
Just filling the time until we get more info. Keeping this thread bumped keeps it in the public eye. That's my story and I'm sticking to itOriginally Posted by solsovly
awesome congrats keft, good job buddy
Just woke up, gonna go test with a BRD on some rarabs or tiny mandys soon, I'll confirm if the mod is DEX for Onslaught then or not.Originally Posted by solsovly
As far as BST merits specifically go, I don't have any lol.
All and any merits I've obtained have been dumped into my RDM, MP, new spells, etc. When I was getting closer to completion I started dumping merits into Axe skill, that's half way done. I plan on doing Killer Trait, Call Beast, Beast Affinity, then I don't know what else.
This is really really far fetched, but after seeing the increased intimidation rate, have you noticed any other BST specific things? IE charm rate of Apollo/Light staff with axe, any +charm duration, enhanced call beast, petfood etc etc. Some things such as enhanced call beast will be pretty damn hard to test but it'd be a nice bonus. I'm looking forward to your test results. /droolingOriginally Posted by Keftenk
If the intimidation is really that good, it could mean that BST intimi-tanking stuff might actually be more than just a joke.![]()
holy bawls!
Congrats, thats a bst dream come true!
Well for BST to tank shit end game they would have to sub NIN. Would they still have enough hate holding capability with NIN sub? If a main job can hold hate while subbing NIN then it is definitely viable. Especially with the intimidation factor.
Charm is a good amount of hate >.>;Originally Posted by Eternus

Seems to have a nice hidden effects aswell.
I think whm could tank fafnir better than bst TBH. Even with full enmity gear no bst ja has an appreciable amount of hate.
I'm not sure about the increase in killer effects though, still I have max killer effects merits, flawless ribbon and usually use the level 50 ring and AF pants for Goobbue.
The damage looks nice, but the results are really supprising on Onslaught. The dynamis mob results are more likely attributed to you using sushi >.>; There is little way a 2.75 fTP and a 60% dex mod could produce those numbers.
Charm really does generate quite a lot of hate.Originally Posted by epigram
Not really, I can and have spammed charm for 5min straight on kirin multiple times to just help with binding early on with kirin. I never gained enough hate to exceed that of anyone including the smn. That was with +8 enmity.
