This interview was shitty, and you asked really shitty questions.
This interview was shitty, and you asked really shitty questions.
If I was going to do an interview and wanted actual answers, I'd probably ask questions like:
"I really enjoy fishing. So far, the changes you have made are great. Any plans to make the system even more involving in the future?"
He asked some of the right questions, but sadly, they can't give any answers, partially because they don't know anything, and because they aren't allowed to anyway.
Wow, Bercus is cute... I'd tap that ass.
half kidding
Anyways, good job, and thank's from my entire HNMLS for going so far out of your way to ask these questions, my hat off to you.
a small part of this was probably us quitting for wow, but ondori and i both tried numerous times to get in touch with the guy they left us and got replies likeOriginally Posted by Lordwafik
silence since then (again, perhaps because we didn't beat down their door after this, but should we have had to?). i of course don't know how things are nowadays but i read this and the rest of the similar replies as "japan doesnt care about you" back in that day. It's my pleasure to be speaking to you and your visitors. I don't know how much help I can be for a lot of things, though. Even though I may (or may not know) the answers, I still have to find out what I can and cannot say. I know you will understand that it takes time, but I hate to make you think that this interview is on the backburner. I need to get those tricky approvals for things, and I know that kind of stuff can take some time. So I'm just asking to bear with me on getting it back to you.
good luck pursuing your activism though, hope you last longer than us and actually are able to get something meaningful done
Go away. You only come here to post negative shit that is seldom relevant to the game. There's no contesting this unless you want to try to edit every post you've made here, so give it up and leave.Originally Posted by Ddong
Those forums are far more popular than BG. Alla is probably the most popular FFXI site reason why they go there. There are still more level 1-60 players than 60-75 and all the 1-60 players go to Alla more than an End game shell's site, hence why they come up with ideas for low level players all the time. Sadly we probably need to post on alla if we want them to listen.Originally Posted by zoobernut

Something about your post tells me your a useless cocksucker in the rest of your life too. At least Bercus tried.Originally Posted by Ddong
Nice job Bercus, wish I could say the same for some of their responses besides the 3 king response. I really liked their response on the 3 Kings plan, kudos to BRP.
One little thing though:
I wonder what Black Belt is exactly doing in this list. If SE made something better for Monk how would this work? "Darker Black Belt"?Originally Posted by bercus

And unlike the other stuff you mention, Black Belt is actually obtainable by other means than the 3 Kings. Doesn't mean it's easier, but at least unlike the abjurations or ridill you mention it has another way to obtain.
Sure, I wouldn't mind seeing something better around my Monk waist ( Haste +16%?! =D), but I seriously don't see how SE could have it "make sense". SE kinda cornered themselves on that one imo.
He's not implying that we make gear to replace Black Belt or Ridill, just that these pieces are still incredibly overpowered even years after the fact, and alot of jobs don't have comparable pieces.
Erm he asked the right questions? Maybe few yes, but the rest is a complete joke.

Also your 3 kings dropping the best 3 bodies for each jobs is a completely flawed. A.body for 1mp/tick or W.body for -10% breath dmg.
Improve black belt by making it sam/mnk/nin equipable instead of just mnks. =(Originally Posted by Krandor

I know this doesn't solve the problem regarding the 3 Kings, just thought it was an interesting idea.
SE seems to be fixated on the fact that they don't want everyone obtaining these weapons and armor dropped from the 3 kings, but they don't realize that almost EVERYONE wants them.
Of course everyone wants them. It is an MMO damn. I don't think it should be just harder to obtain, it should drop off of harder to kill HNM.
FFXI Player: We want it easier for us to get the equipment of our dreams and fight all the monsters in the game.
SE: No you will just quit once you "beat" our game. We want you to keep paying for our service so we will put timesinks in your way as obstacles.
3rd Degree Black Belt.
the thing is that most people never get to fight these monsters because they dont want to spend 25$ per acct to claim these mobs. In retrospect, the people who crowd aery with 50 fucking people who dont know how to fight these mobs and merely overwhelm the mob with sheer numbers (SUPZERG) are the ones getting these overly sought items. Everyone should be able to have a chance...Originally Posted by Eternus

SE doesn't want more people to have access to those monsters or the items they drop. They want to keep the timesink intact. Also I disagree that everyone should be able to fight these monsters. Shit should be rare, so that we will keep playing. If everyone has all the 3 Kings titles, then what other than gear is their motivating factor to keep playing? It is fine if you have problems with people monopolizing HNM, JPs who have E.Bdy, Ridill, M.Bdy, A.Bdy, etc shouldn't still be camping the 3 Kings so they can get a abj for their HQ cursed or a Defending Ring. MMOs cater to the elite in end game. Casual players or those not willing to go the extra mile and be "hardcore" fall by the wayside. This shit is rare for a reason... and often not rare enough.
I'd like to see someone from the Development Team on The Colbert Report. "I'm gonna nail ya!" We know Stephen is an RPG nerd (played paper & pen RPGs growing up) and knows the difference between CNN using Balrog as a Satan graphic and explains it.
That would be a funny interview. Well, like other people said Bercus at least you tried, even if they weren't going to faithfully answer all of your questions sometimes you learn as much by what they don't say (i.e. body language, did they look really uncomfortable at any point in the interview, etc).
Shit should be rare, but the people who get it shouldnt be decided upon a program running inside your computer. They want to keep the timesink intact. Also I disagree that everyone should be able to fight these monsters. Shit should be rare, so that we will keep playing.
