If you try to steal it with cures and get on the hate list you get rancor, if you log out to clear hate, you still get rancor since you were at one point on that NM's hate list. Even if you cure out of alliance you still get rancor.

When a monster pops and an alliance engages it the highest rancor throughout the fight determines the rancor level. Heals from out side the alliance do not determine the racor level, although they will get rancor when the NM dies. Adding people to an alliance is the only way to change rancor settings during a fight. If the fight is at level two rancor and someone with level three rancor joins the alliance the monster will switch to level three rancor mode even if the person immediately leaves the alliance.

Rancor mode will switch to zero when the monster goes back to full health and is unclaimed/unaggroed.

More rancor the more destructive the NM gets. The ONLY way to lower rancor is time.

It should be setup so that for sky pop nms you loose one kill rancor 5 days.

Faf, Behemoth, NQ turtle one per 5 days.

    HQ one every 10 days.

Level 1 rancor : (someone has killed the nm within the last X days)
    increase in damage by 25%

Level 2 rancor : (someone has killed the nm before rancor clear from level 1)
    increase in damage by 50%
    25% increase in TP moves

Level 3 rancor : (someone has killed the nm before rancor clear from level 2)
    increase in damage by 100%
    50% increase in TP moves
    -occasional flail by Faf/Nih
-25% reduction in cast time for King Behemeoth
-25% increase in speed for Behemoth/King
    -100% DA rate on turtle
-25% magic and melee def on turtle

Level 4 rancor (someone has killed the nm before rancor clear from level 3):
rage mode + level 3 rancor

The system doesn't seem too hard to implement. With the cool down timers there is incentive to not camp every day. Stronger ls's can kill an NM at a higher rancor mode without having it reset back to zero.

It doesn't fix camping, but it does fix monopolization to a limit. When you hit level 4 you can't kill it so others can have a shot at the nm. You can grief by holding in a high rancor level too, but that's no different than screwing people over with rage mode.
This is the exact same idea I had when I sent it to SE........ GET OUT OF MY MIND!

Give me access to the server and I fix you claim system in 5 sec.
Just change the 1-2 sec random where the mob can't be claimed to 3-10 secs. The end.

Yeah, you can still bot, but setting a random number between 3 and 10sec on it will put you on par with everyone else. I guess people would start claiming with /engage and a fast delay weapon, but at least, it's not a bot. >_>

Doesn't fix treasure pool problem tho, which is the worst one imo.

I like epi idea. Anything to make those fight interesting. However, I think most ls would just end up killing it with 7-8 ppl and swap next day. Get it to 3%, have 2/3 of the alliance disband, finish it. Any ls with 24member could keep a rotation.

A bunch of the ideas seen in this threads and others threads are usually better than the current system, but fails to compete with one of the above truths. Lets pray SE instances the fights and the world will be at peace. (I also want to see Fafnir fly into Aery).
Would this just result in someone farming the orb materials 24/7 in an effort to block others? And wouldn't "fight-on-demand" pump a much larger number of these highend items into the game? Those long cycles point at a desire to keep those numbers down.

And how does this help with anything except the big HNM's? The original idea was for something that keeps cheaters from monopolizing any NM claim.

That was the idea with the original post. How do we stop the monopolization of claims on the monsters being camped 24/7, since we know that when a GM isn't sitting there staring at them, someone's poshacking their way to a claim every time in many cases on multiple servers.

Someone posted this idea out from my server(Fenrir) on the forums. Decided to let you guys have a look at it, it's just a suggestion, i myself am having no comments about it, just cruising the forums.

SE should make changes such as that the 18-man team that delivers the death blow to the HNM (Fafnir/Nidhogg, Adamantoise/Aspidochelone, Behemoth/King Behemoth) cannot claim the HNM for the next 7 days. For example, if they kill NQ Fafnir, means 7 days auto-prevent claim on Fafnir is active on the 18 people. If they kill HQ Nidhogg means 7 days auto-prevent claim on Nidhogg is active on the 18 people. The 18 people that killed the HNM will be prevented to lay claim thus enabling other legit players who do not use bots or hacks to get a fair claim. Even if someone from the same LS of the 18-man team that killed the last HNM pop, he/she tries to invite the same players who killed the last popped HNM of the same kind will get an error message {You are unable to invite that player at this time}. This way different linkshells can get items and abjs. It will never be the same LS claiming always.
Seems his suggestion is pretty simple.
In short, his pointing out if 18 people from a certain LS claimed Fafnir on Day 1, then the next claim on Fafnir will be Day 8...which is 7 days later. So the same 18 people claim a surprised pop Nidhogg on Day 4, their next Nidhogg claim would be on Day 12, provided Fafnir(NQ) does not pop, if not just settle for Fafnir. Same for the other kings.

Seems his pushing for the "Preventive-Claim" kinda thingy. In this way, botters & hackers are prevented for 7 days on NQ or HQ kings from the day they claimed. If Monday pops King Behemoth, then hope for the best to get King Behemoth on the following Monday if not, just settle for the NQ Behemoth.

This is the link to where i saw it http://ffxi.allakhazam.com/forum.html?f ... m=0;page=1

What are your views ladies & gentlemen on this kind of approach to the game based from the poster's idea which i quoted out or you can have a look at the link itself?

Well finally a feedback from me, i feel it's quite an in-depth process.
His following the dynamis concept, the 3 day wait, except for kings, he wants a 7 day wait period but on 2 ways, NQ claim - 7 days, HQ claim - 7 days, so in one way or another, that linkshell can win pull in a week, a HQ & NQ.

Bad idea, because LS's will just make mule characters and put them in DA,BD,etc..

Fafhogg, Adman/Aspi, Behe/KB should be random pops every 12 hours in a random zone. Make LS's have to scout for them and than the race is on.

Just figured I would add another dumb idea to the mix.

All 3 should pop at the same time, a random 12-24h later. All kings the same day, all NQ's the same day.

Wont solve big LS's hogging the NQ's, but at least it'll save everyone some time instead of having to stare at shit for a potential 8+ hours.

I'd be happy to just see all HNM's as 21 hour pops.

The people who get there late are punished instead of being potentially rewarded with how the system is currently. How many of you have been there the entire window and some ls rolls in as the sixth begins and claims the king?

Everyone in every time zone gets a chance at both NQs and kings.

Discourages a zomg-5-minute-Fafnir-kill which, in a way, adds a tactic in itself and alleviates some of the job favoritism. Who cares if Fafnir is spamming wing when taking your time to heal the melee actually having a chance to fight it is beneficial?

And, best of all, we save hours of our fucking life everyday.

Only if they pop in areas that are unaccessible to players until an update, then I will be happy.
