I bet the same thing might be possible at Jorm.. and maybe Vrtra with alot of skill. Would make those fights a shitload easier as well.
Would I get into trouble if I tried to move them?

I'm sure someone would call a GM if they saw you fighting Jormungand at the bottom of the cliff.

However, the GM will "investigate" it, and neither of you will likely hear another word of it.

Well if you are doing it as BST/THF you are doing it by legit means that are built into the game. Training a HNM to another part of a zone in a legit manner to fight in a different location is nothing to jail someone over. That is a total viable strategy and a good reason to have at least one BST around to be honest. Even if you don't have THF sub you can use powdered boots.

I don't know if you need thf sub, I have it, enough for flee, but if you get far enough away, the line where the pet HP bar will disappear, you're out of normal draw-in range and just hit heel, then your pet just kites as you run ahead of it. At that range, even if you pet has shitty hate, you can cast sneak/invis to avoid aggro and the little hate generated by heel will be insignificant.

You are obviously playing a different game than I am then. GMs are much more likely to ban you for what they consider "exploting" a flaw in the game's mechanics, even if no third party utilities were used or any actual rules broken to accomplish it.

See one of those BLMs or whoever had hate might have POS'd over the Wall of Justice to get AV stuck on it. That is why the GMs might have banned someone. Yes I agree SE's GMs are shitty and probably would do something this stupid though. I would hate to see a player call a GM on a fellow player for doing this type of thing in a legit fashion.

I'm with the ls that killed the glitched Tiamat, and it was faught right out the tunnel. Someone from another ls was goofing around and pulled it there. Moving back to its point as slow as it was, we took it outside the tunnel. Although this avoided adds and all, it wasnt worth it. Tanks were drawn in often, and tanks know how annoying it gets tanking while being drawn in so often. It was also spinning like Aspid. So yeh, theres no advantage to this, rather fight it at its normal spot anytime.

But BST/THF could have done the exact same.

That only draws a mob to your current location on your screen and not on the server and as soon as the mob moves or performs an action it warps back to where it was before (aka where it is on the server).
Its the 2nd button on POS. First one warps you to the mob.

I drew Jorgy half way down the hill when it first came out.
Set a Waypoint, bind it to like F1 (Close to or near the zone)
As soon you get drawn in you can press your bound key and warp back to the zone. Rinse, Repeat.

I personally would like to see someone use hacks to MPK gilsellers fighting Kirin with Faust.

That would be hilarious, but alas Faust doesn't have draw-in

Ah damn you are right, still I want to see that happen lol.

Hmm how about Jorm on the cliff leading to the ENM Key Item (ledge with cave you drop down into for the Ice). It isn't very big and it would be funny to see him stuck up there.

Maybe you just weren't fighting it the right way..? I don't see why it would make a difference in the location you fought it as long as most of the party could be outside wing range...

Because you would always be "outside its spawn radius", even if it was too.

I was once on WHM/BST, kiting at night and curing during the day. Something went funky during a nighttime, the tanks died, and I was drawn in to Tiamat's spawn position while I right at the tunnel exit (far south east of where tiamat is), so I dont think you can ever be far enough away that you wont get drawn in, even if they were POSing.. maybe they somehow got into a cutscene, is there a goblin footprint at the entrance of attowah? Golden Salvage draw in definately has a max range, but its not the same as Tiamats certainly. Another example is Minotaur, whos draw-in ranges the entire zone so, its problem one or the other - radar range, or entire zone.

Has nothing to do with fighting him in a position other than his spawn point. He's not going to draw you in if you're right on his feet, it'd be just like a normal fight id assume. Long as mages can stay outta wing range for the most part then it should be all dandy.
