Well, the point of them, I'm assuming, was just to make SCs for the BLMs.Originally Posted by vegetaa
The main damage in the speed kirin is SMN/BLM.
Though I do wonder how well a melee-heavy speed kirin might do compared to the typical mage heavy kind.
Better than the SMN/BLM burn would. Look at Rukenshin's post.Originally Posted by Khamsin
Blu stun was pretty good on our last Kirin run. Stun landed about 80% ish also from what I was told.
We recently upped our 70+ Blu department to about 5 or 6 now with most at 75. We're going to try and stun lock that bish the whole fight come next Kirin.
Totally just posted a bunch of info on faster kills with melee alliances on the first page.Originally Posted by Khamsin
And yeah, if you are doing a melee bum rush then MNK/WAR would be considerably better since as a melee on Kirin the damage you do is primarly about melee damage and not WS damage, and attack/acc means A LOT on him. But, only if you have a few good WAR/NIN or NIN/WAR or xxx/NIN that can match their damage/hate output to hold hate above them, or MNK/WAR will get eaten. Otherwise MNK/NIN best IMO.Originally Posted by RKenshin
how about.... 10 THF/DRK! na jk war>thfs on kirin
but no seriously thf/drk rocks on kirin >.>

Ruken what parser do you use, only parser I have is Spyle's and I always have error's when I parse stuff with too much data to compute(HNM, long kills, Brittle Rock's =/)
@Rukenshin
My linkshell doesn't do kings. Do you think it would be possible for melees without stuff like Ridills and e. bodies to get something approaching your results with straight-tanking Kirin?(Obviously we can't go as fast without those items.)

Better have some pimped out WAR/NIN or NIN/WAR to hold hate off of the MNK/WARs lol... He said if your tanks aren't so insane damage wise to hold hate off of a MNK.. then the MNK should sub NIN so they can actually live long enough to do damage lol. I do not think however you need insane gear to do this, just the right strategy and people willing to try something different.
Considering the post Ruke was replying to there, it seemed like he was just endorsing Mnk/war over Mnk/sam for damage, not touting Mnk/war as the main source of damage for a melee-zerg Kirin. Whatever though, we were going to do this anyways, so I'll just wait and see how we do.
Good Luck and keep your barstonra and Shell V up. Might want to experiment with earth carol on the tank party if it gets too hairy. Marches and haste the main tanks of course. Accuracy songs on all the melee DD since Kirin has high ass evasion.Originally Posted by Deftscythe

is what I was getting at
Ah, I misunderstood. I'm pretty confident in our tanks, and if not we'll just know to have the monks sub Nin next time. My concern was doing damage fast enough to not wipe out our mages mp.
I also noticed this upon first read.Originally Posted by Raivyn
Can you "tank" (in the traditional sense) if you want to melee burn Kirin? That sounds like what you mean and I'm not sure you can expect your tanks to be useful if you're trying to get the most out of this tactic.Originally Posted by Deftscythe
