Absinthe is legal where I live (Netherlands) but you have to be 18 to buy it (you can buy beer and other drinks at 16). As for beer: Heineken is ok, but there are better Dutch beers. Amstel is good, I think that gets exported to the US too?
It's illegal in canada in its original form. The only legal stuff here is around 40% alcohol, wich is tame...

I had to order some from the Czech republic and made it pass the tolls described as "Malt liquor for medicinal purpose". Costed me a fortune.
