I'm sorta wondering something like that myself too. I managed to steal a Phaubo's spikes a few times other day and it was doing a static 9 damage to everything I fought as opposed to the 30+ that the real ones do to players. I obviously don't have any enhancing skill as thf/nin and neither does a drg with that relic (provided they're not /mage) so it has to either be static based on the spikes or go through some sort of thing like a level calculation.

Weird, my character must be broken or something. Definitely tried it a few times too, I'll have go back out there again.

Edit: stole from the phaubo that died at the top, then ran off and got another. Only screenshot I took of that because the rest did the same when I did it.
