edit2: I'll take it out and check again but as I recall you get a double attack roll for every multi attack with virtue weapons, i.e. you get a roll on each swing of double attack, but I could be wrong, I rarely use fortatude.

And that Steel Cyclone was undoubtedly during his normal state. It would have done half that in his resistent state. We're still not sure what induces it, but it's happened a fair amount of times, and since the effect was the same for every melee in the alliance, it had nothing to do with one player getting unlucky.
Our first thought was that it was triggered by something when he's below 25%, but we've engaged at 100% on certain occasions where it has been in effect from the get go. These times were usually after watching another linkshell wipe hilariously, though, so who knows.
There was a discussion about this in another thread a while back, where we speculated damage resistences may have been reversed, as one of our blms had MB'd a TG3 for 1100 on him, while the melee were getting their damaged screwed.

Regardless, point still stands. Either everyone who was hitting that Cerb is totally gimp, or he was in his resistent state.

1 is ok, more is better. On bunnies you get rid of most randomness so it should be pretty clear what the mod is.

Proto-Ultima is a bit high on defense, but if you're /thf and with attack food it shouldn't be too bad. My SB's only do 350-400 with attack food, but my attack food is carbonara, not the max I can get and I have really shitty ws gear and never get a bard and I'm /nin...

If you want him to not get flamed for it, give him a bard too

And Dagger + Gkat seem to be pretty good for weapons, their ws's are the strongest of their weapon type (unlike many other relic ws's...)

For now, if you're going to keep replying about how VS is stupid for doing Gungnir and Deeds sucks then I see no reason to continue posting. I don't need 12 year olds responding all in caps under anon names, while a Taru SMN who was booted from Valor for crying how the ls wouldn't sponser her and now runs a shell with rejects stupid enough to support her cause, posts incoherent garbage. Maybe I was wrong even for posting in the first place to give the FFXI community info on a weapon people were in the dark with.

For now I'll continue trying to get info, but if this keeps up, then just contact Deeds somehow if you really want info, cause I'll be done. This isn't my obligation and people are lucky enough he's even giving me info, because he's less than impressed with what BG thinks of him. He could care less. I don't think Wafik and the others hate DRG necessarily....well, ok maybe a little bit lol, but I think they're more frustrated with the fact they can't get solid information about the WS. As Wafik mentioned earlier, he and Aurik spent hours testing to isolate the modifier for Mercy Stroke. I know it helped me a ton so I didn't have to do much testing, just tweaking here and there once I finished Mandau. But that information is invaluable not just for Mandau users, it helps break down the WS formula to help any melee understand what affects WS dmg the most.

I don't think your LS is "stupid" for upgrading lance, if the guy earned it, he earned it. However, your linkshell's competence comes into question when you finish a relic and then fail to provide the proper conditions to give it a chance to succeed. You obviously posted the original pic of deeds with Gungnir here for some type of pat on the back or seal of approval from the HNM community. Failing to provide any kind of concrete affirmation that it wasn't a complete mistake is why you're getting laughed at, imo.

Anyways, /war or /thf depends on the mob really. /WAR is nice but its still going to give high damage variance on anything worth a damn and still relies a great deal on gear, food, songs, mob buffs, debuffs, hidden criticals on WS and double attacks. /THF is going to give you much more consistent WS numbers with the +1.0 to pDIF from critical as well as push WS damage closer to max attack cap. On stuff you can SA without too much fear of reprisal, have him /THF (Ouryu, Tiamat, Kirin, Cerberus, Jorm, Sky Guards, Xarca NMs, etc.). /WAR for really only Fafhogg imo. Give him 2x Minuets, attack food is best since DRG doesn't have any native +attack job traits or job abilities, but sushi is still a good choice if you want to ws more often. As long as he has 500-ish attack and pDIF is somewhere @ 1.0 so that he's not hitting for 0s and running a deficit.
