I'm one of the few ppl who's giving constructive suggestions on how to actually get some numbers out of this relic. +10-12 attack from an obscure job trait (its impact on WS is nothing like Berserk or Last Resort) doesn't change my assessment, nor does it change how damage is calculated for any other melee job.

What's your suggestion again? /WHM so you can cast Dia II and lower the mob's defense for WS? Lol

HNM parse: Any SA-able HNM that requires an alliance, in fact even sky NM's could count for this. Obviously as drg/thf.

Modifier parse: DRG/THF, Ronfaure (pick a side) SA+Gerlikjaskld with bard present. Sing 2x etude of each stat, come back with numbers to each ws.

As for my Dynamis shell, they may be "rejects" and people you don't personally like, but I'm very, very happy about my shell and the potential and possibilities we have. You should be happy that I have all those "rejects" that used to be in HNMs that don't HNM anymore, or people from Social Shells that only want to do Dynamis occasionally. It saves you from having to turn people down all the time.

I heard Lei was a shitty pld, just with pimp gear.

And Dagger + Gkat seem to be pretty good for weapons, their ws's are the strongest of their weapon type (unlike many other relic ws's...)

For whatever its worth, Lei used to be good. He doesn't really try to tank much anymore. Probably just bored with the game. The last 2 years he hasn't really even tried from what I can see. Their linkshell these days usually rdm/nin tanks fafnir, or other things just for fun.

I'm sorry if I came across as an elitist in this thread, I was truely interested in gungir because

a)my HNM has two extremely good drgs in it, no they don't come drg to many events but they are cool guys and so I merit with one of their drgs quite often. Not saying omg want gungir for merits, but the drg job intrigues me.

b)After talking to Maxx about the Scythe I saw potential in 2 handed relics that I had not previously seen. Is it sad it takes a relic to make 2hand good yes, but it's a fact.

So with these in mind, when I saw thins thread I WAS truely interested. but then I got frustrated when there was no info for like 12 pages givien thats not deeds fault, but it annoyed me. Like I said earlier I'm not implying Deeds is a bad player I mean he convinced a LS to fund a drg relic, he must be pretty good, I don't understand sushi with capped A+ weapon merits but hey, I'm me.

Kainstryder has been nothing but accomidateing he has answered my questions as fast as possible, I'm serious when I say I'm not trying to be an asshole. I can see Love Halberd, but I don't really consider that since
a) Some people that upgrade relics are in linkshells that don't do Sea,
b) even if you are in Sea, JoL takes months of farming to pop,
c) Pretty much all Jailer weapons trump the shit out of everything else when you have an infinite supply of Virtue Stones,
d) Jailer weapons are trash when you don't have virtue stones,
e) Virtue Stones take a while to get.


Don't get me wrong, Geirskogul performance does seem to be pretty fucking gimp, but honestly I'm not even sure about that anymore, since I haven't seen it stacked with Sneak Attack+Trick Attack yet, and even Mercy Stroke is gimp by itself.

Gugnir is the best lance. 500mil to 1 billion gil worth of currency and the time involved Gugnir should be 2 times better than the next best lance. It isn't that much better at all. Same could be said for almost all relics (shield and horn are the exceptions). The margin by which they are better than their next best alternative isn't nearly what it should be considering how hard they are to get. Basically relic upgrades are shit period. There are so many more useful things you can do with gil, time, and resources in game than a relic weapon.

The only ones that are like that are:
Bravura (arguably, though anyone who says a 100 tp SC with Martialbeats a 100 tp Metatron Torment needs his head checked)
Kikoku (NINs need to dual wield to get good damage obviously and that means you have to use another shittier katana which makes it not get as many hits in.)
The Gswd? (I've heard its bad but no hard data)
Spharai (Destroyers are friggin awesome. Spharai is significantly better but IMO not quite enough.)
