Anyone try tanking with Raptor Mazurka yet?

Boost gives roughly 1/3 the hate of a voke, but it's a very small spike compared to even Voke I think.

I'm guessing the following... (NIN/BRD vs NIN/DRK that is)
+ Self-buffs (probably a moot point though...)
+ Songs don't interrupt
- Eight second cast time for self-buffs (thus why they might be moot)

self buffs on NIN/BRD won't work for 2 reasons.
1) in outdoor areas Mazurka will overwrite the buff (since /BRD can only do 1 song and not 2)
2) /BRD sucks for any buff songs except Ballad I because no instrument, subjob skill, poor song selection.

Songs don't interrupt is a + but Stun getting interrupted is pretty rare too with its low cast time, so that's a push.

Flash and Stun has the same MP cost, Cast Time and Recast. so /PLD and /DRK theoretically is about the same and /PLD should be preferable on mobs that are immune to Stun.

i know next to nothing about pld other than that they suck at holding hate vs a monk. i dont even have pld unlocked.(i dont have cor pld or loldrk unlocked) i just remember back when i was lvling war/mnk for my sub that boost gave monster hate. on paper nin/mnk sounded better but i guess not :O

That would be the most annoying task if you went NIN/MNK.

The only thing that would make it cool is if you had a shout macro every time you boosted saying you were about to go SSJ IV.

Because there seems to be a lot of "/PLD might work too" floating around, I thought I'd throw this out: Flash seems to gather (a lot?) less hate than Stun, so I'm not sure Flash landing for less than a split second (even if the spell in itself is almost unresistable, the effect is, correct?) is worth the loss in hate gain compared to Stun's even when it's resisted for no effect. The JA's suck in comparison as well, for hate or other purposes. But again, just going by eye and secondhand accounts. That in itself has stopped me from attempting some minor NM like Faust with /PLD, though.

That and I'm lazy, and I'm like, PLD8, woo.

PLD sub would have cover lol... well if anyone even uses cover. Not to mention the ability to do light cures and flash. What level does PLD get auto-refresh? Souleater might give alot of hate, but it makes you more of a manasponge lol.

You can't spam bind, absorbs, sleeps, and don't have souleater/weapon bash (who honestly has a level 30 all jobs shield?)/last resort.

Considering I usually only hit 3 people with mazuruka the hate on something like Fafnir where you hit 6 is beyond imagination.

Basically a Warcry on a 12 second timer with all Haste buffs

Yeah, I'm sure you were the first to know that mazurka gives hate. I imagine all those BRD/NIN's that tanked fafhoggs had no idea, must have been a macro slip.

NIN/DRK still has insane hate, regardless if /BRD is more, and it has stuns.
