1400 Accounts suspended/terminated

Well a friend of mine's mule with a ton of money and 2 PCCs got banned for no real reason. I'm guessing it was suspected to be a gilseller bank. We're currently mass bitching at GMs.

Did he make the money back during the tavnazian safehold vendor scam? I've heard they banned people for no other reason than making a ton of money by doing that... tho seems kinda old by now

Used to be able to buy an item from NPC and sell it right back to the NPC for more than you bought it for.

Back when CoP first came out the vendors in the safehold were buying those homam pieces or whatever they were back for about 50k more than they were selling for... they still sell for like 500k, but sell back at a lower price after the fix.. but some people were able to stand next to the npc for days and max out gil on multiple characters before it was over...

I've never used windower and haven't even ever been tempted to use it. I haven't ever used a melee job, so maybe if I was main I'd be tempted for party member's TP but other than that, I don't see the point of it. I do use a 3rd party program for screens though, so I think that statement would be more true if it was quoted as "If it wasn't for 3rd party programs, ffxi wouldn't be around."

Mabe not you but there's a large majority of people here who wouldnt be playing. Hell If I was denied rights to my PC when 1 program is in use, screw that. I can understand a console, as it was not built to multitask, but Windows whole selling point over the old dos was the fact, you can multitask between your windows. Hell, why a program cant be multitasked is beyond me, shame it was programmed horribly.

Whether you have a melee job or a mage job, that's irrelevant. The point is most of us don't want our computer to be hijacked while playing FFXI, as it is when it's in non-windowed mode.

I always read these as "Hundreds of people were caught using [any harmless 3rd party program like windower], which wasn't an official release and contained a keylogger."

People get so addicted to the windower that they can't play for 5 days until it's patched after an update, and they grab ones that have worms/virus's/keyloggers and they get screwed "for just using windower".

The day I can't use windower is the day I quit ffxi, so if I get banned for it, so be it. It's not hard to be certain about what software you're using either.

One thing this does make me wonder: Perhaps they've finally taken the time to start logging people's positions, and going over the ones that are flagged for whatever reason.

Could be why Ulli was changed in such a retarded manner, to make it much easier for them to catch the people that are mrargus-ing it.
