Erm, how so Nodachi? And now looking back at it, I shouldnt of said never used a third party program because, well thats what a windower is. He did use that for proper distancing for range attacks. I was mostly referring to the people who get away with blatently hacking >_> and third party programs along that line, heh.
You guessed wrong.Originally Posted by Lordwafik

Every scrub who complains that they got banned for nothing, is later brought to light for having done something obviously wrong. No one just gets 'banned' at random.Originally Posted by *Shinzon*
As some said, those who are "blatant" about hacking and havn't been caught. Duno, guess we wern't fortunate enough for SE to investigate them. Sometimes it does take others ratting on people for it to happen apparently. This doesn't mean those who got banned didn't deserve it though.
And @ Lordwafik, I view both windower and Tparty as illegal and whack, how does that make me "not very smart"?
I think we should ban people from being able to use laptops while playing FFXI on their PS2Originally Posted by Nodachi

Never doing one again once my suspension is up ... gee SE I'm sorry I don't have time to run up a mountain with a bunch of true sight mobs that link to everything else in zone to get a key item, to do it again to get to the ENM zone, to do the ENM and get a shitty Eltoro Leather or run out of time because the big thing Cure 5s himself like there's no tomorrow (and trust me, there allways is).Originally Posted by Jooeetheplatypus

Orly? And you know this because you're a GM? If not, shut it. You have no idea what a GM can and cannot detect. As I stated, several people have been jailed while calling a GM and using windower. I sincerely doubt that when the GM responded, the people told the GM they were using windower. I'd consider that good enough reason for people to not be using any 3rd party tools when they're contacting a GM. Better to be safe than sorry.Originally Posted by Jeryhn

See man? This is an ideal scrub. If you don't like how the game works, don't fucking play it.Originally Posted by zhan
I'd have to agree with that, but under the circumstances, unless they were banning him for the use of I guess windower. Wouldnt they have given him the standard, warning-3day suspension-month suspension, or however it is that works?
Btw, this is the same Nodachi with the Amano? Grats if soI'd love one of those ; ;
90% of people that use windower wouldnt play if they banned everyone for using it.Originally Posted by Fhqwghads
In case you never noticed, all ENMs were meant to be like raids more than BCNMs. Get to the end of a 'dungeon' then fight a boss. So you're essentially skipping half of the enmOriginally Posted by zhan

I really don't know how SE's approach to suspensions/banning works. I always hear kids get "banned" but banned is a permenant thing, when really it's just a suspension. I don't even know the minimal jail time or how that all works either :/ sorry, can't answer that.
I completely agree. I think SE does these token bannings to instill fear in people so they'll quit using 3rd party tools. I'm just pointing out that there's been instances where GMs supposedly have detected windower and suspended people on the spot for it. Unless SE has completely lost their marbles, they'll never ban every windower user in the game because of the reason you stated.Originally Posted by Minions

The tav ring request screen amongst others. I don't think anyone can prove yes or no if a GM can detect windower. They were probably caught talking about windower in chatlog or something which I'm usually careful about.
and before we get back into a huge windower cheating or not, I'll just link this

I doubt anything new will be brought up from what was already said on that thread about windower.
No, I know this because of the way the Windower actually works.Originally Posted by Fhqwghads

I've called many a GM on RMTers POSing Ulli or Fleetooling wherever. Never have I once been banned/jail/warned/etc.. about my use of Windower. Those people that say they have been banned/jailed/warned/etc.. for -just- using Windower are lying their asses off. Windower is -not- detecable; I don't see why people cannot understand this. The -only- time it was detecable, was when the leaked 3.23 version (the one with the chatstamps) got downloaded. That was a blatent detection thing, extremely obvious for a GM to see. Also, people that use /echo commands, make the detection of 3rd party programs increase as well.Originally Posted by Fhqwghads
Basically, if you're just using Windower for TParty and Distance, you cannot get banned/jailed/warned/etc.., so stop saying you can.
Pretty much every instance of a GM "detecting" windower, it's been the case that the said person who was using it blurted it out in party/tell/linkshell chat that they were using it, prior to being jailed.Originally Posted by Fhqwghads
GM's can't detect that, but they can certainly read log files, which they do so quite frequently.
GM's say a LOT of bullshit. In one of those "Windower detection" cases, the GM even went on saying crap like "hmm, I can see you are running 4 plugins, blah blah" when apparently said person didn't have any loaded...
I, when dealing with a GM about a completely unrelated issue (quest bug) even had one that told me that "GM's aren't allowed assisting players with any issues of any sort" (exact quote), while another one promptly fixed the fucking problem I was having...
