Of course you are going to be there for 3 hours camping him anyways. If you lose straight tanking once, then don't do it again lol (3 hours and some xp lost big fucking deal). That isn't like upgrading a relic for 1 billion gil and all the time invested in that. The worst thing that happens when you straight tank KB is that you wipe and another LS kills and it drops Defending Ring. Relic weapon you get something basically worthless to your job to stand around in Jueno with in most cases after you are done whoring merits with it. After that you can quit or level some job worth a shit and play that instead of your loldrg, lolbst, etc. at end game functions and still be effective in just mediocre gear.

If you think Missions are not efficient in an RPG I laugh at you. Not just for the rewards like the Apocalypse Nigh earrings, DM earrings, CoP rings and access to new areas to fight stronger monsters. Not to mention usually a cool storyline arc you actually get to finish. I play FF games for the story and those missions are the story.

This is quite possible one of the stupidest arguments I have ever heard. I respect the fact that you are keeping your cool even though you are being bashed left and right, but I do have to say that the bashing is justified. You say the worst that could happen is you wipe and another LS claims and gets a Defending Ring? Of course it is. I don't know which server you're on, but chances of getting consecutive KB claims (unless you bot up the ass and through the mouth) are extremely unlikely. So lets put these factors together:
1) Straight tanking KB is an extremely difficult, if not impossible thing to do. Basically, if you straight tank KB, you die.

2) Claiming is also very difficult, so if you actually get a claim, use it wisely and don't be a moron.

I don't know about your LS, but I'm sure 99.9% of LSes out there don't want to find a fun way to kill KB. They want to kill KB and have fun with the items it drops. If you have a WHOLE ENTIRE LS that is psyched to straight tank KB, then I think a round of catscans is needed.

If you read the drama threads we have purposely flailed ourselves (Ilm doing 300TP SATA Steel Cyclone onto Kayne doing Hundred Fists on Fafnir's tail then CFHing it), killed a CFH Nidhogg, and done various other crazy things that piss people off. Straight tanking KB is something I wouldn't put past our WAR brigade (we plan on doing it), pretty sure they would CFH if we wipe too. Hell I wasn't even there for the CFH Nidhogg kill or the self flail. I have been there for the several times we ganked JP LSs, multiple induced flails, etc. Thats just how we roll lmao. Yes its stupid, obnoxious and crazy, but that is how my LS is.

Also we have a WHM sponsoring Dynamis and upgrading relic Club (also a MNK doing Spharai). Severus is cool though, and you know how I feel about relic upgrades. I still will help him if I can. Just because I feel they aren't worth the effort, doesn't mean I won't support one of my LS friends in their endeavors.

LOL if you read the thread I said buying currency is stupid (not this thread). The cost of gil from buying bazaared currency is not worth it with the current abilities given by the majority of relic weapons. Sponsoring private raids is the way to go if you are going to do it. You could also sell the currency to suckers and price gouge, then turn around and use that gil to upgrade your entire LSs gear instead of doing a marginal upgrade to just one person. A DRK with Kraken (or 2 of them) rapes face alot harder on HNM than a relic user. Damn me for repeating myself.

Wiping to a HNM you spent 3 hours camping is not certain, but the fun from fucking around and doing something new is worth it if your LS is crazy like ours seems to be. Its not my idea to straight tank everything in FFXI, it seems to be a goal of a good portion of the LS though.

I do however enjoy fucking around on this and serveral other forums (couple of NFL ones too) in between doing shit at work. I wish Ifrit server hadn't gotten to the point it is at now, but really with all the BS and feuding how can you take King camps seriously? We only took mobs from JP LSs that camp 24/7 and do not sleep lol (this was pre-NA claim patch btw)... we only camp during NA times ourselves. We haven't ganked anyone post claim patch to my knowledge.

I have a sense of humor about all of this because I know nobody at King camps are legit anymore, so dicking both them and ourselves over was funny at the time. Trust me on the CFH Nidhogg.. another LS had flailed another LS twice.. we grabbed it and CFHd it and killed. Its not like we do the majority of the MPKing lol (there is usually at least 4 other LSs there that fuck eachother over too). Each of the times that shit happened, the camp was already a mess and we just put the icing on the cake. The end game is such a fucking joke that 3 Kings camps deserve to be shitted on in such a manner. Sage Sundi needs to be bound to a cardboard cutout of the 3 Kings and have FFXI players take turns shitting all over him. Limbus and Dynamis do deserve some respect since they are at least somewhat designed to go hand in hand with the whole MMO for pansies theme. Lets discourage aggression and confrontation, yet still allow for competition lol. I do and have played several MMOs with various forms of PvP (open or instanced). I have more friends in FFXI so I still play it. The HNM drama is all to blame on the claim system, it encourages competition. We all should know friendly competition doesn't last forever.
