it wasnt luck...that stingray was trained by the most poisonous snakes and by the most vile crocs.

That was the fuckin Agent 47 of stingrays.

I just hope that when Darwin finally catches up to one of those morons from Jackass that there are not a bunch of "I'm so surprised" threads like this. Or am I the only person who looks into the future and sees a headline entitled "Johnny Knoxville Drowns in 50 Gallons of his Own Feces"?
Who said they were surprised? I'm not...I'm just sad. I'd be surprised if he died in a car accident. Are you saying that because he died this way we should be less sad or not sad at all because we knew he was going to get killed eventually?
I'm surprised, it's just like when princess diana was killed, nobody expected it. I'm not surprised he died from an animal, I'm surprised he died, period.

Now, the question is...and I'm taking this from Septimus: are you REALLY surprised, or are you pretending to be surprised? :D

I'm going to take a wild guess and say the first one.

There is a difference between someone dieing in a car crash and someone who just months ago dangled his baby over crocodiles being killed by one of the incredibly dangerous animals that he interacted with every day. Seriously, how many times did other animal behaviorists say that the guy wasn't taking the proper precautions? My point isn't that it isn't sad that he died, just that he shouldn't have acted as recklessly as he did.

(And my other point is that I am predicting that Johnny Knoxville will one day die in a vat of his on excrement.)

There's a huge difference as they have absolutely nothing to do with one another.

The baby thing was reckless. But what precautions do you take to avoid death/injury from something like this? Maybe he did take the precautions that are normally taken, and that you don't know about it, since I don't see a report about it siding either way. Maybe he should have put a metal plate over his heart.
Or maybe he should have booked a trip with these wildly dangerous creatures... My friends been there, says its cool

I love you please don't ban me because we disagree.

Steve Irwin was the one man who could have kept us safe from both Jack Bauer and Chuck Norris.

It actually makes some sense. He's going to be much more wary and cautious when dealing with hyper-poisonous snakes or twelve foot long crocodiles. He probably let his guard down for the "relatively docile" stingray. He also knew that even if he did get stabbed by one, the poison would hurt like a mother but wouldn't kill him, which he seemed used to. Of course, he didn't anticipate it penetrating his heart...

That's actually not a bad point, I know I wouldn't expect a stingray to stab me at least. But you'd think that they would take every precaution just incase something went wrong, which it obviously did. And with how many times things have gone wrong on his show/movies, just seems like they should have been more careful.

How do you know they weren't being that careful? I've read so many articles but can't find anything that says he wasn't wearing standard stingray protection warez.

Edit: People don't seem to realize that in 10 years there have been 17 deaths caused by stingrays, peanuts probably kill more people a year, these aren't maneaters.

Don't know, but when you know something has a long sharp thing it can stab you with, you'd think they would cover his heart first and foremost. Unless it went through something he was wearing? I haven't seen or heard anything that suggested he was.

Exactly my point, no one knows but just assumes.

Well, that's mostly because when somebody dies from some sort of piercing accident it's mostly reported as "Such and such died today from a bullet that pierced through his bullet proof vest hitting him in the heart" (just a quick example) And since I didn't see anything like that, I normally assume they weren't wearing anything.

I sort of want to see it, not that I would enjoy it, but just to understand and get closure. Like I watched all of Grizzly Man and they wouldn't play the audio of the guy dying.

If it was leeked, it would probably be all over the news, etc. and imo that would be pretty fucked up for his wife and children to have to see their husband/father die over and over again.

Not to be a jerk, but that is failed common. I'm pretty sure his wife and children aren't surfing the web checking links that read: "See Irwin get stabbed by stingray." Broadcast TV would not play it, so the only way to check it is by someone posting it on a more underground host. If it got to Youtube and googlevid it would be reported and taken down immediately.

    Just a thought...

it was decided on BG vent that the only way he should have properly died of not old age was to be fighting off a thousand crocs to save women and children and his heart exploded

oh and he gets his arm bit off and replaces it with a crocodile head
a warriors death, full of dead enemys
and hear the lamentations of thier women
