If you want hard boss fights, play Legends of Legaia (without having "leveling sessions (gay)") and without using the Point Card.

I like FFIX the best I think it's just because it was my first one. I just think it had that old school FF feeling to it because of all the characters and how the NPCs were all different kinds of strange creatures. I'm one of the few that really liked FFVIII. I liked the idea of the story and I felt like I could relate to the characters since they were all my age.
FFX had a fresh new concept and it was alot of fun, I hated it that it didn't have an overworld map though. FFX-2 speaks for itself. fun battle system and job change dealio, however, they could have picked a different FF to make a sequel to.
Shouldn't Be Part Of The Main Series:
Final Fantasy VII
This game suffers from the same problem that Final Fantasy VIII does, too futuristic for a series that is mainly medieval fantasy. This game would have been a great side quest game, but it is out of place when compared to the rest of the series.![]()
Funny you mention that, I beat it earlier today for the first time. The last third of the game dragged the first two out of "suck" for me at least.Originally Posted by Carbon
But yeah, some of the bosses were fucking obscene. <3 physical attacks doing 150% of my max HP.
You know, he's totally not even looking at Kain from FFIV as one of the best male characters of the series. He has a lot of depth that most people overlook.
Let's look at him for a minute. Kain is constantly torn up on the inside because he's constantly controlled by those around him. The king of Baron, Golbez, and eventually Zemus. He struggles to be a righteous dragon knight, yet constantly is falling farther away from the path of good. And then on top of all that, he has to sit back and watch as the girl of his dreams marries his best friend. Life's a bitch for Kain.
And seriously, where did these decisions come from? This douche bag's biased opinions? What a friggin moron.
wow...just wow lol
Geez, talk about asinine, lol...
While Materia sucked, FFVII battle system wasn't that bad.
I <3 Matoya's(sp) Theme from FF1
And I think Tifa and Aeris are really awesome female roles too, just because of how indepth Square went into their stuff, I guess it's a lot to do with the CoFFVII stuff they've been doing.
If anyone hasn't already, Maiden Who Wanders the Planet(sp) and The 2 Cases of Tifa/Denzel entries are pretty cool, both unofficial short stories by Square on Aeris after her death and Tifa/Denzel after FFVII, I been hooked on FFVII lately =0. Wish they'd do this to the rest of the FF's like they are for VII.
The Black Mages... Very good revamped Final Fantasy battle music etc.
Honestly, I love all of the Uematsu Final Fantasy music. There's a few songs I don't enjoy, yeah. But every game has some great music. He said FFV was a horrible soundtrack, but listen to Clash on the Big Bridge. Bad ASS. :D
Best Villian =
Those #$%(*$%($#(*@#($*@#$^#$^@# lightning bolts in FFX >.>; amirite?
I liked best the way he praised FFXI for its graphics stating that:
"This game has so many beautiful locations, that just about any screen shot would make a great wallpaper"
and the accompanying pic that says otherwise with the shit brown insides of zeruhn mines with matching brown wooden beams, brown subligar/noob gear and bad lighting.
As far as baddies it has to be Kefka. He fucking poisoned the drinking water and killed tiny innocent pixelized children, he isss hardcore eevilz! Need I mention the whole bringing world to the verge of appacolypse thing. FFXI could totally get kicked up a notch with a little bit of Windurst Waters drinking water poisening.
I don't think I ever dodged one of those god damn things, they pissed me off so much, lol.Originally Posted by Ksandra

But, you know, a little poisoning is the pinnacle of badness.
(However, I still maintain that Kefka was the best villain ever.)
Kefka woulda been the best if only he had some character development... :/
Ya ya, true enough. Blowing up vanadiel is all the rage rlly, passe at this point mehbe darling. I'm thinking that the AA zilart Taru has to be FFXI's best villain. Simply by being a floating taru he transcends from being a typical cliche type enemy to some kind of Chucky-esque terrifying perversion of nature.
Edit: oh and Kefkas backstory is that he was born an asshole, later in the game he develops into some type of super-demi god asshole.
Kefka was just gold
There's sand in my boots.
*AHEM* I said THERES SAND IN MY BOOTS
ah god D: I love FFVI
