On topic of PLD tanking theres more then 1 way to play PLD sub nin anyone who saids otherwise doesn't know what thier talking about.

1.) Using resist setup and using very high amounts of Enmity(and typically very high build of haste on ground). Focuses on low flash time as major hate tool and getting hit for low numbers.
2.) Moderate Enmity moderate haste no resist and could use a little bit of -magic damage taken / cure potency up. Focuses on Cure as major hate tool.

3.) I am sure theres mixes of playing both of those I describe and more ways to play PLD/NIN.

To get tiamat hitting you about 200-210ish you need a total of about -40% magic damage taken including shell and etc. Nonbuffed, no magic damage take -, and no job traits(whm) it's about 284-290ish normal I think but back on point having Tiamat hit 190-210ish in Air imo would be perfect for keeping good hate btw I play PLD/NIN as 2nd setup type.

Torques seem to be about 1/5 drop rate for us, I don't understand how you could have so little after a year... NO fort torques? >.>

I guess are luck was in capes. There wa sa time where we got pissed off about Altruistics dropping. We've also had horrible luck with hope. So alot of our time has been spent on temperence/Ix'mnk. in 4 JOL sets, we've always gone 1/10~ on that fucker, Hope.

Why does everyone need to bring up the past? first of all, our LS has barely ever tried Fafhogg or any HNMs yet. we are mainly focusing on sea/sky/limbus. so before you start bad-mouthing our entire LS, remember that everyone has to start somewhere. poeple arent perfect everytime.

My LS has only been farming for around 5 months and we've gotten a Fort, Hope, and the cape from loldrg(fack). We usually get a nice amount of deed and virtue drops. although Hope hasnt dropped a virtue yet. and mnk and drk are like so stingy with the capes.....i hate farming pretty much all the Ix's anyways lol.

Ok, maybe not quite. But he is known for kiting Fafnir, stealing KB from NAs, and giving it back to the JPs who had a stranglehold on it, wiping to Tiamat at 99%, among other things.

2/3 Wins 2/2 Drop 1st lose was due to taking it down too fast then it started to fly and blms not having enough mp to make it land quick enough.(both were nonmanaburned) The 3rd fight was more around 10 mins waited close to 3-4 mins for someone to come back from dc when we entered. yeah 2/2 on beard has to be really lucky.

Oh ok, I misunderstood you then. I know Krandor and I have debated about PLDs wearing full barfira, I personally do on NIN and PLD, and have never had trouble keeping hate through that. I will definately agree that Shell IV/V is crucial in that KS99 due to Breath attacks and Fafhogg formation.

Yeah, for Tiamat at least I only wear about 134ish in Barfire before buffs. I did alot of mixing and matching over Tiamats for a few weeks and found that gave me the best balance of taking damaging (so that I have something to cure) while keeping my MP up. Wearing more then that I would usually find myself with too much MP and most of the time I really hate not having anything to cure.

Our LSs Relic horn is almost done so at least for Tiamat (not that NA LSs fight Tiamat anymore on our server, I think gilsellers have killed 10/11 or so of our servers last Tias) or Jorm, I might skip the Resist gear altogether and just use my Magic Damage- set in it's place.
