I don't believe DA can kick in on any swing because if so a war with a 1/5 chance to DA (merits+brutal, throw in AF boots and AF2 legs if feeling saucy) would have more 7 hit rampages than 6, and I just don't see that.

I said the same thing in my original argument against it, and that's why I added in my post above that it may work differently for dual wielding somehow.
But, on the other hand, there was a few really long posts about this on the DRK forum of KI. The actual math comes out to I think something like a 38% (don't remember off my head) chance of DA once as a DRK/WAR with Brutal in Guillotine. A few people did some testing over long periods of time on TW mobs (to hit the acc cap), and the DA rate for all of them came out just a few % below the actual number (like 35%) accounting for misses due to the accuracy cap.
Pretty convinced it's at least true for 2h weapons.
What gear setup were you using for that True Strike?
You have to factor in misses though if you're basing your testing on exp/merit mobs, which are usually VT at the least. Even if you had a few DAs in there, you might have missed a hit or two.Originally Posted by Bagel
Pretty sure each hit/hand does have a chance to double/triple attack though, which is why its easier to have extra attacks on WS that natively have a higher # of attacks. For instance, you'll see many more 7-8 hit Rampage and Dancing Edges compared to 2 hit Tachi: Gekkos or Spinning Slashes.
Using Mercy Stroke as an example though, you can have up to a 6 hit Mercy (13% return) with a Triple on both hands. Its a native 1-hit WS which becomes 2 hits with /NIN off-hand. Its rare as fuck, but it can happen, and happens easier ofc with a forced Triple with Assassin's Charge.
wow that true strike is crazy lol gonna have to look at the mods for that ws.

True Strike is really buff on high defense stuff, I pretty much use Club on WAR/NIN exclusively in Dynamis-Xarcabard now save DL/fragment fights.
Wow.... definitley gonna consider picking up a Horrent Mace, that's really impressive. Latent on that mace is something dumb like red HP right? I'd pick it up more for the DMG in any case though...
It's some stupid combination of red HP and 300% TP and engaged, forgot what it is exactly... But 99% of the time it won't be active in any case, so it's kind of a worthless latent.
I'm going to steal the Rapheal's Rod no one uses to replace it, since it has the same base damage and lower daily, and even better is now I can look pretty wielding my rainbow wand while doing pretty damage.
I feel pretty, oh so pretty?
Btw, Blackice is fat... Making fun of my singing.![]()
I think the TP mod was proven false, but it kicks in at Red HP at least.
I've had one rotting in my Locker for months now, no one wants to actually buy it (I think for obvious reasons), but I haven't really felt like chucking it either.

15TP first hit + 4 more + 2 from triple attack.
I don't know about polearms though, if there's one that gives 14TP return like you said, i'm sure there's a higher delay one that gives 15.
Wait wait, you landed it without elemental seal on JoL.. and broke 1000? Tell me more >.>Originally Posted by DragonCloud64

I remember hearing something abut 1k needles accuracy being really good if you macro r.acc+ gear into it. Just optical hat, crimson gauntlets, and imperial egg would add +119 r.acc.
Whats up with True Strike anyways? Never heard about people doing insane numbers till a few weeks ago. What makes it so good?Originally Posted by RKenshin
I think the problem lies more in the fact that there weren't very many good clubs that were easily accessible until ToAU. That's my only guess.Originally Posted by Falaras
No one bothered to try it I think before Horrent Mace was released... Generally, the WS is pretty weak for most jobs, as it sucks if you don't have a good amount of attack/STR to back it up.
It's very consistant high damage though with the right gear on just about all mobs (or it would seem so), which is more than what can be said for a lot of multi-hit WS.
So would it be worth it for like a Samurai to level club for Kirin/Genbu 1st WS on? or only Warriors and such.
I don't think so, Hagun alone does well in itself and I'm pretty sure that their club skill and attack would be too low.
