I've tried as DRK and it was pretty shitty. Granted my gear is pretty sub-optimal (no PCharm, no Sniper+1, no Juggernaut), but I don't think a DRK/NIN has enough Acc/Attack to use a club as well as other jobs. Base 220 skill, without aggressor/berserk means you'll do less damage, and hit less often.

Sadly Axe/Kraken can outperform Scythe often. I've experimented with it a lot, and it does work fairly well. I've played around with Horrent + Kraken Club a little too, but I dunno if it'll compare to a war/nin

lol nice, screw direct tanking, PLD/NIN DD + Full Homam + Carbonara+1 + 304 Sword Skill ftw. I've been trying to set up a PLD/NIN burn so LS PLDs stop /emo'ing about EXP buffers, but I've been too lazy to camp Joyeuse (for myself anyways). Maybe I'll just try it with Hrotti or Company + Justice, but another LS PLD said he went through @1000 stones in @ 2 hours. :/

Quoted for the sad truth. I went through like 5 stacks in ~an hour with the halberd, and it's got nearly 400 delay.

Cool numbers on Excalibur though. That additional effect really is crazy.

Joy/Justice burns closer to 2-3 stacks an hour in mire burns (with 15% ish haste gear). Company/Justice > Hrotti/Jusice in xp, higher base damage, lower delay its win/win.

It'll burn a lot more /war if its all you're using, or the brd is marching instead of minuet.

Ya this virtue stone thing is becominga real pain. I usually solo grahs or random shit in sea to get my stones. Im going to have to go after more grahs now since I need a fortitude torque even more now. As for food, unfortunely, not having that torq and missing 6 sword merits forces me to eat sushi. Whats your guys acc % w/o sushi and with 300+ sword skill? I would love to do meat burns in VT parties and HP food on HNMs.

For eating meat, two BRD PTs are really great actually in particular. Well, they're great to begin with but if you want to experiment with a meat build it's a really good setup for it.

Just have one BRD use Madrigal (around +28 acc?) and then the other 3 songs usually are best as Marchx2 and Minuet (or another combination of those two). The acc from Madrigal combined with a good bit of acc from equipment and merits will basically put you at or very close to the acc cap, and you'll have a lot more attack.

Even without Madrigal though, with 300 skill and around +40-50 acc from gear you should be comming close to/hitting the cap. Of course, Sea Puks and Wyverns tend to screw with your parsed acc, but generally if you're fighting those mobs and maintaining ~85% hitrate then you're close to the cap.

turban, fort torque, diabolos' earring, hauby, homam hands/legs, dual woodsmans, amir boots , and swift belt with capped merits (299 sword skill total) I parse mid-high 80's on puk, and high 80's - low 90's in the mire using red curry. For wyvern and Mamool ja I find I need to swap out swift belt / turban for O-Hat and potent belt to keep my acc up where I'm happy with it.

Don't forget hedgehog pie comes with its own +5 acc, it can make up somewhat for the lack of a torque, or a couple of merits.

I've never actually done the PLD/NIN burn PT, just basing it off of my results with THF. With full Homam, 292 skill, and +45 Accuracy, I use meat on just about everything, and that's still 12 skill off what a PLD can get with sword. Only mobs that make me consider otherwise are Fafnir, Prudence, Byakko etc. Talis' results seem pretty accurate as to what you can expect on exp mobs.

The merits you're missing can be done quickly, the harder part would be the Homam in a DD build. Even if you're next in line for a certain piece, it could take months for it to drop. Torque drop rate seems to vary a lot from shell to shell but we're more or less capped on em. I used to 2-box farm em on THF so they're easy to spam if you need a lot of Forts.

Good way to get Virtue Stones is to solo the DC-T Om'Xzomits. 100% drop on NQ organs. Granted, the weaker Ul'Xzomits are 100% drop too.. but they come with two babies and are impossible to solo without sleepga.

XD yea, that's how I got my soil gorget kinda fast, just jumped on BRD, I sleepga's, had a LS BLM nuke the 'mom' of the family down, then we zoned into shrine and back out. One thing we learned though is that the families share party hate. I went afk one time and the BLM went to solo a family and I came back to the 2 'babies' attacking me after he zoned.
