EDIT: and no, there is no hate. But thats a good thing in this case, and in other cases where I really dont want to pull hate. Especially in the shit for defense HP gear I use.

I think he's talking about FFXI's crappy pathfinding that may put Garuda behind Tiamat, but that actually never happens if you Assault it from the right place. Oh, and they might give some TP to Tiamat too but well...

Excaliburs add effects must really help get things down faster i think. One proc every 40 secs would virtually be one more SMN in the ally, and it seems to proc a lot more than that.

Ok thats what i thought. and my comment is: come to our Tiamat fights and do w/e the fuck u want behind it lol. No joke, you wont pull off our BRD/NINs. We had our SMNs sitting to Tiamat's left/backish. I was sitting on the side. The only time hate was lost was when a tank died once @ the start.

As for the proc. I really cant wait until she repops. Sword Madrigal completely eliminates the need to eat acc food. (I switched from sushi to noodles during the fight.) I also went out and got some more HP gear, and plan on buying a gigant mantle and cassie earring very soon. With turtle soup right now I have 2040 HP. During this fight I only had 1650-1750 HP and came pld/nin. /nin turned out to be worthless. When your not tanking the only dmg u take goes through shadows.

I still have +50 from a cassie to get, +40ish from a gigant over my marid mantle+1 and +70 HP merits. (Someday I might get some martial

). So hopefully I can start the next fight with 2200+ HP. Ill come /war for the double attack and small hp boost over /nin. Hell, we might have a few MNKs with Mantra help me out too.

My average proc when she lands is around 3-4. If Im real lucky I get 5/6 procs. The worst I think I did was 2.

Go PLD/MNK if you aren't planning on tanking if you want a bigger HP boost =p

Still dont need to assault you walk to its body and wait for your avatar to catch up and then hit Predator Claws or whatever...never got a too far away from that

Get your BRD to learn how to use a Harp for Ballad. They can stand inbetween Tiamat and your mages and play ballads to hit the SMNs (who should be resting right up on her side) and the RDM or whoever else. You can get off 3 bloodpacts easy like this without having to run up to her or assault it giving more TP.

Is that hard to do? I dont have a hard hitting melee job other than thf on a past character (Currently Nin/Mnk onri, never bothered trying full swing), but I broke 1.3k with Ram Charge this past weekend >.>; I kinda assumed Wars/Sams/Thfs could dwarf that.

For some reason genbu is wierd like that I had a similar thing happen the other day, was hitting for 700 average then all of a sudden bam an 1100 gekko when it was nearly dead. On average genbu does not provide for numbers that high.

It is extremely hard to do high damage on Genbu as SAM. Can't speak for other jobs though
