Finally, although not by the best circumstances, I had a chance to go to an HNM on SAM.

It was crazy...

Top is the highest Kaiten without a DA, middle is the highest Gekko without a DA, and the last is the only DA WS I landed. Overall Kaiten loses out to Gekko/Kasha/Yuki by about 300-400 damage on him with 300% TP, but it's still pretty strong considering Kaiten only needs 100%. TA WS showed just about the same results as well.

With SA the range of Kaiten was about 650 to 950 damage with an average of about 750, and the other WS had a range of about 900 to 1300 with an average of 1k. With TA Kaiten had a range of 250 to 400 with an average of 300, and the other WS had a range of about 300 to 650 with an average of 500.

Ouch, looks like Kaiten suffers from the same variable pDIF that plagues Yuki/Kasha. You're using attack food I'm assuming, but did you have 2x Miinuet?

Oh, didn't realize people still don't acknowledge the difference between the WS. But ya, its pretty obvious that Gekko defaults to the "high pDIF" function on higher lvl/tougher mobs and Yuki/Kasha and I guess Kaiten too tend to default to the "low pDIF" function found here: http://www.freewebs.com/vzx-01/img/pdif-v3.gif

At some point, when your attack is much higher than a mob's defense (its clearly relative), Kasha/Yuki/Kaiten go to "high pDIF" and can do the same amount of damage as Gekko, since they do have the same fTP multipliers and secondary modifiers.

I wouldn't be surprised if all WS have a "default" pDIF inherent to them, but its much harder to test and prove since SAM is really the only job that has 3 WS that are supposed to be identical.

But in all seriousness, still compiling relevant examples where TA+Assassin definitely is not the same as SA, and that its not 100% Accuracy.

Trick attack is 100% accuracy, unless you are on dodgy terrain, or your person who you are TA'ing equipment swaps, those 2 conditions will make it miss.
