If PS3's cost 3x as much as Wii and there's 400k of them, imagine how much money they'll make when they sell out?
Not much, they're still losing a ton on each system (like 300 bucks.) Plus, if the Wii gets a huge install base from initial hype people will WANT to make games for it, its the reason people made games for PS2. Momentum matters. A lot
And most people dont care about MGS, SE games, etc. I'd say around 15-20% of the PS2 userbase did. Madden did sell systems but the reason it sold PS2s and not Xbox or GCN was because people already wanted GTA. Reason Xbox sold was because people wanted Halo. The rest of the games are icing and important for the health of the system, but they what makes it a PS2 size hit. Loyalty only goes so far as well. I don't know how far it will take it, but 600 is likely too far. PSX didn't have NEAR the install base PS2 got.
