All the things I made fun of the 360 for seem to be the things that Sony is doing with the PS3 but to a greater degree.

I know I'll get one for FF13 because Im gay like that... but I wish to god I could spend $300 on one without any of the extra frills... just to do what I want to do with my video game system... Play farging videogames lol.

I'm still making fun of my 360, but only for two reasons.

1-Backwards Compatlity is still fucked and will likely be forever. HI2U 200+ games I can't play, most not crap like Barbie's Horse Adventures.

2-Xbox Live Arcade is still almost a year later rather barren, underused and little more then a ploy to get you to buy points to unlock shinyer versions of games you could play over at PopCap for free, or for $.25 in a bar. Why when MAME's been out for goddamned forever, I'm stuck with Pac-Man, Frogger and ..lawl SF2HF?. (Don't get me wrong, Cloning Clyde and Geo Wars are fantastic but come on now) Memo to Nintendo, don't do this.

The sad thing is the way they designed it they CAN'T. It will support Blu-Ray because they are going to have games using Blu-Ray. Developers CAN fill one up, they just dont need to. You can have uncompressed textures and million poly models, they just wont make a lick of difference. It has the Cell as well. Both are DAMNED expensive and neither can be removed. GG sony.

Well, I was kind of aiming at the idea of replacing the optical and Cell with a cheaper replacement.

In 3 years, blueray players will be dirt cheap, and Cell will be completly over-thrown by something new and better.

Maybe you're right with smaller third party companies from that time but companies like Square? I don't think so. They would want so much for games like FF and Chrono Trigger, especially since 2 of them from the SNES era have been or are going to be released on GBA. Can u imagine how much they would want for those kind of franchises, it would end up meaning the download would cost like 20 or 30 dollars - nothx.

I'm a huge Sony fanboy, but this is why Sony is going to get their ass torched in this contest.

They just have no....f'in....clue about what people want. People don't need NEWNEWNEW shoved down their throats all the time. I would be pretty damn happy right now just to fire up a console, have it load quickly, and have the ability to play a simple game again.

PS3 is being pushed too far into "PC-land", where it's just "too much". Think Neo-Geo. The world wasn't ready for $750 24-bit games, and they aren't ready for $600 blu-ray bullshit. It's awesome, but you're selling only to the super-niche market that is willing to pay that much.

The PS2 dominated because it was just that much better than everyone else. However I still didn't know many people that actually paid the $550 for it, I'd say I knew almost no one. I didn't physically play one until they dropped to like $350 at least because no one wanted to pay it. They got lucky that they recovered from that, this time there's too much competition and not enough going for it....it's going to get shit all over and be a gigantic disaster. This isn't about flopping with some POS $100 handheld, this is about your flagship that this division has bet it's future on.

Wow nice gaming knowledge here. Anyway my problem with nintendo is its nintendo titles are way to limited. I will buy a Wii for Zelda, Smash brothers, and Metroid and nothing else cause they have no zero third party support under there belt.

Nintendo fucked up to bad when they burned there third party bridges during those N64 days, because its proven that third party support makes more money then first party support. PSX and PS2 raped the gaming market with third party support. PS2 has more great series third party games then nintendo has first party titles. N64 and GC where decent but with third party support they would have been uber.
