I don't think that's a change. When you Mijin a mob and you have a majority of the hate, it counts as if you are disengaging it. So if no one in your PT is fast enough to hit it to keep claim, it will go unclaimed. Or something like that... It's wierd. Don't quote me!

If you're a tank and you have hate, if you die that means you automatically disengage. If you disengage from the mob with hate it goes unclaimed.

you mean if you claim a mob with it? Im pretty sure that once you mijin it, it goes unclaimed/never gets claimed since the "claimer" died.

im not sure when the change happened (i didnt even know it changed) one thing still stands though, if the person who mijinclaims is in a pt/ally
it will still draw enough hate to keep it yellow for a few spells or vokes...

recently watched RMT mijinclaim KB and although it didnt go purple right away, it was enough that the rmt ally could easily get hate and claim.

I honestly never really thought about using mijin to claim until i saw that, but in terms of effectiveness, im not sure how well it works.

just help meh find the mpk patch, the one were they changed how mobs are claimed, and whatnot. It was in there.

Because usually the tank doesn't have "claim" on the mob when he dies? Claim, within a party, is had by the player who last touched the mob. Mijin Gakure is guaranteed to be the last action to touch a mob before the person with that claim dies. When a tank dies, he most likely was not the last person to act on the mob.

Though it doesn't have to be the tank, it could be anyone (AoEs, a NIN without hate using Mijin, someone dying from poison after a melee hit, etc.). Hate has little to do with it.

You know, I'm not too certain there ever was an update that stated "Monsters will now go unclaimed when the ability Mijin Gakure is used against them."

It didnt say that exactly-- it said something like "If a player dies with hate the monster will go unclaimed" or some shit, it was most defintly a COP update, i recall reading it. I dont remeber the exact wording..

Or maybe i'm totaly crazy and I just made this up, I'm not sure..
