Like it or not, the price of gil has a massive impact on the spending power of the general community. If you think that using this to make money is somehow immoral, I'm not really sure what to say. btw, I never bought/sold gil like a "stock market", but I damn sure kept tabs on the selling prices of the RMT sites. Any successful crafter would keep tabs on all the facets of the economy and try to make sense of it. Every 100 crafter that churns out HQ's should know that probably 75%+ of their incoming gil originated at IGE for the buyer, it helps to know what that gil is costing and when it will be more plentiful.

Was more generalizing the entire playerbase of FFXI and how so many players buy gil and criticize SE for doing nothing about RMT. Those people often buy gil themselves or buy stuff from RMT bazaars which gives them gil to sell in the first place. I can admit I have made mistakes and not researched whose bazaar I bought shit from, nowhere have I said I am totally innocent.

I am poor, and thats fine with me (nothing wrong with being poor haha). I could easily whore my BRD out and make gil off of ENMs, BCs, etc. Nothing wrong with someone who doesn't have a 75 job. I originally thought I would quit when I got full AF and beat the Shadowlord. That obviously did not happen. If someone chooses to level all to 60 and just crafts or does BS then that is fine. Going after Maat's cap is kinda overboard, it may be beating the game in a way. You can never truely beat a MMO though, SE will keep making something new for you to do.

PS2 players didn't see alot of the same shit I saw when I was a noob. Things were alot more innocent than they are now. I saw the changes happen gradually and it was different than when my friends Matt and Greg started playing after PS2 launch. Matt got banned for being a racist asshat and Greg never leveled a job past 55, they have other more important things to do in real life anyways. They wasted less time than I did.

Greedy people are not those who have 100 mil.. or even a few hundred mil. They are the people with 1 billion gil in gear and need a mule to hold their extra gil because they have maxed out gil on their main. The type who blow through 500 mil in currency like its nothing. People who want to lot on an abjuration so they can get a HQ when they already have the NQ, shit like that makes me vomit. The most I have ever had in FFXI was 12 mil, I usually have around 3 mil and right now I am at 180k (loaned out 2.5 mil). I am pretty poor compared to the normal end game person, especially in my LS.

Damn sorry, I am trying to be civil haha. There is a difference in doing what seems smart and good for you and doing what is right for the community. There are alot of ways to make money in MMOs, alot of them require you to step on people to get where you want. I am far from perfect and have made my own stupid mistakes in different ways.

Doesn't have anything to do with it really, Krandor said something about lotting E hands and N head lol. Was clearing up what my LS means with rotting and lotting. Those are two different subjects that have to do with overall greed. Using IGE to your advantage is smart, just you can make plenty of gil without doing going that far. The rates they sell gil at and how much they have in stock does play a role in the economy as much as I hate it. You are using IGE as a market index. I guess everyone can use IGE that way so the playing field is even in that regard. Crafting recipes are readily available for most things on the net. I just don't like giving IGE's site any traffic whatsoever, maybe I just hate them that much.

Who said anything about price gouging? If you bothered to do a little research, you'd probably find that I'm more known for aggressively undercutting, and make money through volume sale at bargain price rather than gouging.

Though even if you were price gouging, that should be good, in Eternus' view. Afterall, when you price gouge, who are you harming? The people who pay that price, which are the people who buy gil off IGE when they sell cheap, which is what you were looking at in the first place to determine when to price gouge (if you were price gouging).

The more something costs, the more gil someone has to buy to afford it, and the more it hurts their pocketbook. Eventually, the gilbuyers will be unable to afford the gil to buy some items, and will have to stop.
