    yes i know how annoying that is -_- my band did pirates of the carribean last year, and one of the songs was 7/4 time. we got 4th in state... were doin aladdin this year and its unbelivably difficult to march and play this shit.... i'll scan my trumpet part later ; ;

    side note: i live in mississippi and have friends from my high school that are going to state now and i can get the music if anyone is interested.

    side side note: did anyone watch the DCI finals tuesday? the cavaliers show was amazing.

    We marched military in highschool and were pretty damn good. But if you want to see the world's best miltary marching band...look up the Fightin' Texas Aggie Band. I think we're the only military marching band left in the world past highschool. It's a shame that most competitions are point based toward corps style.

    That show was definitely amazing! I liked Phantom Regiment's show too though.

    But I have always been a long time fan of the Blue Devils since... well since I first saw them.... first time seeing a Div. I corps.

    My graduating class was 650 kids or so.

    Imo, if you're into music, and you DON'T know about Drum Corps... shame on you.
    What you think is hard core....is nothing compared to the Ohio State marching band. They practice just as much and just as hard as the football team.

    If you so much as miss a single step in a game...you are punished the next practice. And by punished, I mean thrown into the Olentangy River with your instrument. Imagine fucking up in a November game......
    pfft, that's nothing.

    I suggest you read the SI article on Southern and Grambling State, that'll show you how 2 REAL marching bands do it.

    re-edit for a more useful post:

    God I wish my marching band director had done something like this. Loved marching band, would've loved it more if I could've done a fun as hell show like that.

    You would be suprised. There is at least one other university in Texas that does a military show, other than A&M. I can only guess that you went to Kingwood, as it is easily the biggest military marching band in Texas.

    oh yes, lolsash
