I'd have jailed all the tanks at 10% and let Kirin go to town on the rest of the alliance, personally.![]()
Anyway, if all that happened to the other people involved (not the guy with the flee hack) was a temporary jailing to prevent them from getting the kill/drops, then S-E are sending an obvious message that they will no longer allow anyone to benefit from cheating behaviour, exploits and hacks. By the same token, from what Jeryhn said on page 1, none of the others will have permanent marks on their account.
The latter would be S-E having to acknowledge that we don't have the ability to control and police what other members of our LSes do. The former means that linkshells will be watching their members much more closely now.
Gawd air, it's soooo cool how you cheated your ass off and fucked over real players in every way imaginable.Originally Posted by Airshort7

Really.
Well, he is technically better than RMT. He doesn't sell gil, which is what the big deal is with RMT anyway. Not so much the competition or interference with LS activities. People would still hate RMT with a passion and complain, even if IGE could somehow magically produce gil and sell it without ever making an appearance in-game.Originally Posted by Plow
Do you really think the GM showed up, saw what was going on, and WAITED till it was at 1% to put them in jail?Originally Posted by NynJa
And either way, they lost a set of pops. Other than time and maybe a little exp if they died a lot, the end result is the same isn't it?
Would have been better to wait until they actually killed it, then jail them before they had a chance to cast lots. But only if Osode dropped.
You think its is unpossible for a GM to have a sadistic sense of humor?Originally Posted by further

Yes, this would have been better. Ideal if he had full drops.Originally Posted by divisortheory

GM Whoever: I'm sorry, I feel bad for wasting your triggers and seeing all that loot go to waste.
GM Whoever: OK, I lied. I'm laughing my ass off at you right now. Suck it asswipe.
Explain to me how exactly cheating and fucking over everyone in a game is worse than cheating and fucking over everyone in a game please?Originally Posted by Khamsin
I'm sorry but fishbots affected the prices of things infinitely more than gilsellers ever have.
If gilsellers didn't bother people while making their gil to sell, who would really care?
I mean if you're cheating the game in order to make money for your own selfish purposes, how is that better than cheating the game to make money for someone else's selfish purposes?
Cheating is cheating, not selling your gil doesn't make you not a complete piece of shit cheater.
I'm not talking about the prices of things. And I never said he wasn't cheating. I'm talking about selling gil.Originally Posted by Plow
RMT take it a step further than someone merely cheating. They enable others to buy gil. Even if RMT could sell gil off a website while being nonexistant in-game, and the entire process of producing the gil were transparent to the economy and NM/HNM, mining, crafting, etc. venues, they'd still be bad enough just from that, alone.
on carbuncle every rmt that had something to do with the jorm and tiamat kill was permabanned @ the 1400 account ban which hit about 39 them, theres still about 80-100 left with the 4 new groups leveling. Weekly bannings will dwindle the number lower and lower because RMT are stupid they all warp to NM's to do everything they can to get an edge over competiton.
You have a pretty distorted sense of "fairness" if you really think people selling gil is worse than actually directly cheating and fucking people over in game.Originally Posted by Khamsin
Personally I think people who team up with RMT to get loot are WORSE than the RMT themselves. The RMT are just doing their jobs (granted their jobs interfere with the game in many negative ways.)Originally Posted by Khamsin
On the other hand, someone who helps RMT just to get loot is basically showcasing their greed, lack of ethics, and are virtually flipping off the entire population of the server who try to do things without resorting to cheating. I think most people would agree that RMT are pretty much "the enemy", and to have someone join their ranks is akin to being a traitor of sorts, especially the high level players who choose to do this. After all, they would have more than likely never gotten to those levels without the aid of other people on their server for limit breaks, missions, etc. Siding with RMT is like a slap in the face to everyone who helped that person.
Let me put it this way.Originally Posted by Plow
If RMT had no impact whatsoever on the game, and merely sold gil from some website, and nobody ever saw them in-game or the effects of it on the economy, that'd be bad just on its own.
However, RMT not only sell gil, they also cheat and fuck people over.
Therefore, since RMT both cheat and fuck people over and sell gil, that makes them worse than someone who merely cheats and fucks people over, but does not sell gil.
Ummm... explain please?Originally Posted by Khamsin
Because selling gil for real money is a big no-no. Says so in the fine print.Originally Posted by Plow
No action is ever completly without consequence, RMT moreso than many others. RMTing really shafts the entire economy, and reinforces the conditions that lead people (especially newbies) to RMT in the first place. It distorts the entire trade system upwards by concentrating gil that wasn't (and frequently isn't possible to) viably earn.
I'm with you on this one. There is a pack of these retards who do Dynamis alongside known gilsellers on Ramuh. They lost a few people to permabans recently though, and hopefully they will lose more.Originally Posted by Fhqwghads
What is the point of teaming up with rmt for items instead of earning them with friends? Watching friends get items and become better seems better than helping people that are just going to sell gil.....
Being in this game just for yourself seems rather stupid, go play a single player RPG instead.
No no no, the GM had it spot on. If they had killed it, they would have had the possibility of having all shitty loots. This way they'll always wonder "what if...[an Osode dropped]?" Plus they get to wallow in the idea that chances are, someone got a free Kirin off their pop items and benefitted from it. At least if you kill, even if it's Kirin, you have the satisfaction of the kill... but the not knowing must be far worse.Originally Posted by divisortheory
