Someone familiar with claim bots explain this to me please

If it landed, he couldn't recast that quickly.

Umm look at Hode, hes still trying to claim with dia after the 3 dia from tonko goes off. That means it happen literally 3-5 sec after pop. No way you can spam dia that fast, as dia has a recast time of 5 seconds. Even with rostrum and fastcast earring that bring timer down to what 4 seconds?

It's impossible to cast, or try to cast, faster than 1 spell per 3-4 seconds regardless of the cast time. Go on your mule's level 1 RDM and chainspell dia on a rabbit. You won't be able to get more tha 14-15 off in 60 seconds. Even if you're running while trying to cast and get interrupted the interruption cooldown is several seconds.

At least 8 seconds had to have gone by between the first and 3rd cast of dia in that screenshot, or something is up.

Honestly, how the fuck do we know this?

Its not like these people are running Timestamp when they take their screenshots, or even running FFAssist's Timestamp chat logger, so looking at chat logs that obviously have some amount of filters on them on FFXI's notoriously unreliable chat log proves absolutely nothing. Its even entirely possible that the server itself screwed up momentarily, which caused the message to be displayed to multiple people in the way it was.

Also, you do not see the message that your catsing would be interrupted if you cast too early with the claim delay.

I dont care what kind of bot you have... you can't make the recast timer for spells instant, it isn't possible. It's an error in the chatlog

Got tired of reading after the 15th page or so. Forgive me something similar has been posted already.

Anyway, just Mea'd to canyon and started running around casting Dia on a sapling and continued running to interrupt the spell. Don't have a stopwatch or anything, but it takes me about 6-7 taru steps (again, no stopwatch or "scientific" method ) after the Dia animation clears to be able to recast it (i.e. about 2s is my guess). Using a simple 1-line "/ma Dia <t>" macro. On naked WHM/BLM.

So to me, it's conceivable for him to be running toward Fafnir with his macro held down _or_ he hits Faf with a Dia, but it doesn't appear claimed on his screen yet, so he keeps trying to Dia, but instead of him moving, it's Fafnir moving away from him.

About 9s total for all 3 of my Dias is my guesstimate. Add more time if the first Dia lands.

But anyway, just because something looks like impropriety it does not mean that there is something wrong. For example, when I was running to Dragons Aery a member of Kinz magically popped onto my screen near VV's spawn point. Yes, he could have fallen from the heavens there, or he could have been running normally and invisible worn off. (In a zone with no sight-aggressive mobs.) I just chalked it up to invisible for the simple fact that I would someone using a pos hack would be smart enough to check for people in an area that they are about to fall into. Strange, yes; proof of a hack, no.

this actually seems pretty valid. If other people have the time they can try this out too and tell us what happens (SS's so the sand-o-vaginas and everyone else can be satisfied).

It's true that the "it was laggy" card is a dead and beaten horse, but it still is the cause of many glitches and other weird things that happen in the game, so it can't be completey ruled out all the time.

So I've read 20 fucking pages all the way through in one sitting. All I've gleaned from it is that I have gained a small amount of e-fame by having my super-pro flash claim analyzed by just about everyone who reads these forums. I'd like to thank the Academy.

I find it unutterably amusing that Judah is so miffed because Sendoh didn't give into his highschool-caliber threats. I find it incredibly amusing, in fact, that Judah clings so adamantly to his view of BG that he cannot fathom the fact that Sendoh along with the rest of the ls (with the exception of a few niav purists who have posted in this thread) is genuinely disturbed by this screenshot. We want you to prove to us very much that this is a bot, but you can't produce anything more than some fuzzy math that cannot explain away the deluge of larely non-biased cross-server posters who have added counter-evidence showing that the log is fallible and will repeat things in the wrong order, or even produce things that never happened. Judah just chooses to ignore this. Hilarious.

This thread is basically over. Until the people who say we bot can produce hard evidence that is not subject to intense scrutiny (see: MrArgus on the siste's site sever), you will continue to only be flapping your gums and stomping your foot because you didn't get claim. Take a day off from humping Tiamat to get some sleep and a good wank, Judah. You need it.
