Looks like the Saints are going to pull it out. Could it be they are for real? I have no idea.
Ive not seen a game played with so much passion and intensity in a very long time. I don't think theres a team in the NFL that could have beaten them tonight.
It was most certainly entertaining.

I'm happy to see all the respect as a Colts Fan.
There's that one saying that goes something like to win Championships you have to be able to run the ball and stop the run. I'm a bit concerned with both right now. I can't go as far as saying they are terrible in both, but I believe both will need to improve over the season in order to win a Super Bowl. Teams are going to continue to use Jacksonville's game plan of hogging the ball on time of possession to keep Peyton Manning off the field.
The Eagles in the top 5 is kinda lol
Well the Jaguars are pretty proficient at stopping the run if you watched their previous 2 games (Dallas and Pittsburgh). The Colts probably won't have too many games against really good run defenses to test themselves against. Like Jacksonville they play the Texans and Titans twice this year lol. The Jaguars had a over-pursued punt return where people didn't stay in their lanes for a TD (also a block in the back on the play uncalled), two missed FGs (one a chip shot), and 2 poorly thrown balls that were INTs. They still only lost by 7 points. That is a 13 point swing on the punt return and the two FGs, 10 points if you just count the pathetic 24 yard chip shot miss and not the longer FG miss.
I am not feeling so confident about the Jags Special Teams, both kicking FGs and punt return coverage wise. Leftwich didn't really do well either despite having one TD passing to Jones-Drew (rookie was a bright spot) and one rushing. Matt Jones played hurt and really was a non-factor (wasn't in on alot of plays). He is a big part of the offense as far as a deep threat is concerned. The lack of using Brent Hawkins to pass rush Manning was also not a good idea. Rashean Mathis got away with one PI (though he did turn towards the ball) and another potential call would have been ticky tack (fingers ran down the back of the jersey oh nos). Reggie Wayne basically got an incomplete pass called against him in the same manner Matt Jones did in the Cowboys game (ball came out when they hit the ground and it was called incomplete), this is thanks to the current fumble/incomplete pass rules.
This season is shaping up to be interesting for my team. The Jags lost their short yardage pounder and starting FB Greg Jones for the season in a damn preseason game (this has been a factor in every game thus far). Also they lost Reggie Hayward, the top pass rusher for the season in the game vs Dallas. If he were in the last two games, the defense would have been even more disruptive. If the Jaguars stay somewhat healthy they should be able to reach the playoffs and potentially make some noise. Will need to develop some more chemistry on offense to win in the playoffs though.
Pittsburgh didn't look so hot in the last 2 games at all. Ben isn't totally right imo and it shows. He was never a world beater, but he isn't playing his best ball that is for sure. Cincy has a good offense, but we will see how their defense shapes up against better offensive foes later on. Baltimore looks damn scary in that division.... not a good sign to see McNair go to the Ravens, given the defense they have. He hasn't even gotten started in that offense. This is of course all early in the season, and as you all probably know that injuries can change everything.
It's neither dickwad. I stated that the Steelers were able to play through bad ref'ing and the Seahawks weren't able to. I never said refs weren't bad in the game.Originally Posted by Byrd

It is ironic that you mock others for blaming bad refs and say you "can play through those situations", but when pitt loses to "unlucky fumbles" (which is noones fault but their own), you say "well, we really won, so it doesn't matter". The steelers should have been good enough to "play through that situation". C'mon, at least seattle didn't screw themselves.Originally Posted by Anyway
Eagles are a good team, but i still think that Chicago, minnesota, seattle, cinci, baltimore, indi, and san diego are better teams.

Come on, man, if you're going to complain about officiating in one sentence, don't bitch at others for doing the same. It doesn't lend much credence to your posts when you do that.
The Seahawks did plenty of self-screwing. The refs were a contributing factor, sure, but the Seahawks did PLENTY to lose that game on their own. Poor clock management, missed field goals, poor punting, dropped passes, catching passes out of bounds, blown coverages, etc. I'd link my diatribe on it from last February, but search is broken. The Steelers did not play a particularly good game, but the Seahawks played their worst game of the year at the worst possible time.Originally Posted by Tyche
I believe the lack of interception from the Steeler game was worse than any single call in the Super Bowl, as was the Oklahoma-Oregon call two weeks ago. Both of those were blown instant replay calls. At least the Super Bowl refs got the replays right.
(P.S. I'm a diehard Seahawks fan, so please don't accuse me of being a Steeler homer).
OMFG CONFRENCE USA SUSPENDED REPLAY OFFICIALS!!!!!!!!!! IT'S TEH END OF THE FOOTBALL WORLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Anyway, I wonder how the Seahawks will do w/o Alexander. He wasn't too big of a factor in their first 3 games and Mo Morris is a faster (but not stronger) back.
If i remember the game right, the superbowl botched call created a 14 point swing. From possibly being a TD, to losing the ball, Steelers getting a TD, and a loss of momentum. SO the call was quiite detrimental, despite the bad game. I hated the superbowl anyway, don't like the seahawks or the steelers >.>
I'm not sure. I've always thought of Hasselbeck and not Alexander as the team MVP. They might be just fine, but simply having Alexander in the backfield changes the amount the defense will focus on the secondary. I don't think Hasselbeck throws for 5 TD's last weekend if Alexander's not in there. Even unhealthy, he's a force. And Mo Morris has never impressed me all that much, even when he was running behind last year's juggernaut of an OL. We'll see this weekend, I suppose. I predict the winner of the Sunday night game will have home field through the NFC playoffs.Originally Posted by Avvesione

there San Diego game this week will really show what kinda team they really are.
Saying 1 player being hurt kills a teams whole run defence is humerous at best. Kinda shows how that run defence really was.
New Orleans is still kinda iffy in my book, Alanta was the first real decent team they've played yet this season, and there was so much emotion in that game its really hard to tell how they'll do against a good team away.
I really don't think the saints are getting enough credit. People are like "The schedule was easy, they played with emotion"...Going into green bay and coming out with a win is no easy task, no matter how green bay or bret favre is playing. Last night's game wasn't strictly emotion either. They spread the ball out, the game and the calls were brilliant. The coaching was dead on. Saints haven't had a single 100 yard rusher or reciever, yet still come out with three wins. Hell, they got the best free-agent pick-up in drew breese, the top draft pick in regard to bush, not to mention already having deuce and horn. With that said, god damn @ this schedule...
