Hmm, I'm drawing a blank on some of the names, but I know you're missing a few relics from Phoenix.

Shigunas has a Mandau
Yuzuu has an Excalibur
There's one Kikoku, but I can't remember the name
And there's one more Aegis that I can't remember who has it

I only knew about these relics thanks to AV popping for Feather/Nightmare Fox and saw them running around. It's pretty funny to see almost every non-mage running around with a relic weapon, and in some cases two relics. Hopefully someone else can remember those two names I forgot.

To understand my reasoning, ask wafik does more damage: Mandau or Mandau+Something. NIN's ability to do a lot of damage is in no small part to the 30% delay reduction. It sucks anus compared to other relics I meant. Gungnir increases DRG's damage a lot more than Kikoku increases NIN's.

I don't see why not, they are different items.

However, stage 4 katana doesn't offer much. It's just DMG: 42 Delay: 227, no special effects other than Blade: Metsu in Dynamis, which you'd get off your Kikoku mainhand anyway. It'd be better to use a Fudo offhand, or something, for DMG: 39 Delay: 227 Critical Hit Rate +3%.

The "rare/ex" applies only to that specific item, not the entire series of weapons. Just as you can obtain the same stage 0 relic more than once, if you drop it, you can obtain stage 4 more than once if you first upgrade or drop your current stage 4 so you don't get the "You cannot obtain the ____. Come back when you have sorted your inventory" error.

The problem wasn't the Gungnir, it was Deeds. He apparently doesn't like playing monkey.
By the way, ask Wafik to do tests with Mercy Stroke as THF/SAM without any SATA and without gear optimised for the stat mod and see how much damage it does. My guess is very shitty.

The question is whether the server keeps track of relics you got and counts it as 'completed' instead of just cutscenes and item aquisition based on trades.

I guess it all depends on how you look at it. From what some sources say the relic h2h can be out-parsed with Destroyers. Warrior can't weild the axe. Next in line on the big damage dealers comes Ninja with Kikoku. A ninja with Kikoku will out damage any other damage dealing jobs with relic on the majority of mobs.. so in that sense making good, better does not = suck... One could argue relic's as a whole suck, but in most cases they are still the best weapon for that job.

Have you seen a relic NIN AND a relic DRK/DRG/THF/BST/Etc etc? I seriously doubt it. One of DRK and DRG's problems (shitty, shitty weapons, look at Ori Scythe and Mezraq then compare to Destroyers and Jugg/Maneater) is fixed by relic.
